Can anyone give me some feedback on manual boost controllers? I'm considering running a manual boost controller, but I'm not too sure on the reliability. And I'm not talking about eBay crap either

what you mean? The ball and spring ones are reliable, people have been using those for the longest. You can even make one yourself using like 10 bux of stuff from home depot.

you can even mount a flip switch in cabin to bypass it.... so stock boost or stock wastegate spring boost vs whatever your increased boost is at.

They are reliable, but no reason not to have a boost gauge.... $20 that can save your motor sounds like a no brainer to me. You can even get the little discrete digital ones now.

Manual boost controllers are easy to install and consistent. Only down fall is they are not in the car, and you can only have multiple boost levels if you get a dual stage one.

I prefer electronic.

AEM TRU-Boost for most accurate Reading and Controller. The only downside i have to say about it (on my 03 Evo) is that you have to calculate boost by percentage % and not by psi. So you have to adjust and figure after running your car.

Awesome boost gauge and controller once you get the hang of it. Hallman's are good too.

Fairly simple to install because it comes with very detailed instructions.
