Did you catch the episode last night? Did anyone wonder what the lone Walker in the field that Shane saw both times signified? Im thinking it was to signify how Shane felt, all alone and lost, which is what that Walker was, alone in the field appearing lost.
Discuss.

Interesting theory. I'm still waiting for them to reveal what Jenner told Rick at the CDC, rumor is it's supposed to be revealed sometime this season.
Brett
02-27-2012, 03:44 PM
Oh I didnt know that was even still in the plot, will be good to see. I hate how they still have yet to truly explain how the world ended up this way or if its the whole world or just the U.S. Annoys the hell out of me...LOL. But the lone Walker I know must have had some bigger meaning and thats the only thing I can come up with so far.

The Jenner thing I think is still rumor, but I've seen it being discussed several places. I've seen some other things about the walker in the field/Shane angle and seen a pretty convincing screen cap supposedly from a future episode, but I don't wanna post spoilers.
Brett
02-27-2012, 03:56 PM
Post spoilers, I wanna know!! LOL A few people are mentioning how when they are heading out from the farm and returning back the Walker is on the same side both times (Same side as Shane) so they wonder if it was a edit error.

Spoilers ↓↓↓↓↓↓↓
Here's what he posted about ep. 11. I'm pretty sure he also says somewhere else in the thread that Rick stabs Shane and Shane becomes a walker in ep. 12.
Let's get down to it, then.
Episode 11 "Judge, Jury, Executioner"
Episode starts with Daryl beating the shit out of Randall in a shed. Randall reveals that their group has about 30 people, including women and children, and that he doesn't know where they're staying since they're always on the move. He also says that they're heavily armed and tells a story about how they once found a guy with two young daughters while out scavenging and proceeded to rape the girls, letting their father live so he could watch. Daryl beats him even harder. Cue theme music.
Daryl leaves the shed and reveals to the others what he found out. Based on that knowledge, Rick decides that they must kill Randall. Only Dale argues against it and asks Rick for one day to talk to everybody and convince them to let Randall live. He gets no support from Daryl, Hershel, Shane or even Glenn. Then there's this big discussion about whether to go through with it. Dale vehemently objects, telling everyone that this is murder and means forever giving up hope for a civilized society. In the end, only Andrea sides with Dale. Majority rules, so Randall is to be executed.
There's also a moment between Hershel and Glenn at one point where the old man gives Glenn his father's watch along with his blessing to Glenn's relationship with his daughter.
Meanwhile, Carl sneaks into the shed to look at Randall who begs Carl to help him escape. Shane finds Carl there and drags him out, telling him to stop trying to get himself killed. Carl then immediately goes and calls Carol an idiot for believing that Sophia is in heaven. Rick asks him to apologize and start thinking before opening his mouth. Carl then steals Daryl's gun, finds a walker stuck in a swamp and tries to shoot it. Before he can do that, the walker breaks free and attempts to grab Carl, who freaks out and runs away.
At nightfall, Rick takes Randall to the barn and prepares to shoot him, but Carl comes in to watch. Rick can't kill Randall in front of his son, so he decides to hold Randall in custody for now. Near the woods, Dale finds a mutilated cow and is attacked by the same walker from before, who freed itself from the swamp to follow Carl. Dale doesn't get bit, but the walker tears open his guts before it's killed by Daryl. Dale's wounds are too grave and Daryl performs a mercy killing by shooting him in the head. End episode.

1. I notice the show is bad about ever since the little girl got lost its not so much about Zombies but more Drama.
2. You see less and less of other characters besides Rick,Shane,Lorrie. What the hell happen to the young boy at the farm that was helping Herschel?
3. I noticed they are making a point from last nights episode finally that you dont only have to be bit but scratched also.
4. With all this cutting the fingers last night then using their hands to kill leaves open wounds for infection. Then Rick has all this zombie blood going in his mouth lol
last...
I cant see them staying at the farm to much longer and must think it will be over ran now when the zombies follow them home. They can't stay there cause the show has to move on . Also Shane will be killed very soon i hope i didn't spoil anything but that is the episode i anticipate the most :)
Also if it sticks to the book Shane dies by Carls hands...
Brett
02-27-2012, 04:56 PM
Damn I like Dale, I think he is the under dog you always feel sorry him since he is the old man looking out for everyone and watches Shane so close, So I hope they don't shoot him next week

You notice they left their blood around testing the zombies then ran out with the gate open. I am waiting to see if the Zombies smell them out and track them down
Browning151
02-27-2012, 05:47 PM
I doubt they could smell them out so to speak, but as much as they keep coming and going from they're probably slowly leading the walkers there without even realizing it. Pretty sure they'll be leaving the farm by the end of the season though.

I for one, don't want Dale to die, but in the books he did, so I suppose we need to stay true to the source material.
I greatly enjoyed the comparative fights between Rick and Shane which is a physical brawl, against the emotional/mental fight of Lori vs. Andrea.
To be honest, I wanted Andrea dead last season.

Yeah, Dale was around longer in the comics. A lot of speculation that he's the one that wanted to leave after Darabont left and that's why he's going so soon.

Yeah I am anxious to see where they go with the rest of the season and season 3. Never thought a show about Zombies would hook me in but Im hooked to this like I am SOA. I hope they give exact details though soon on if this affected the whole world, just the US, etc. Id like to know if it affected the whole globe how did it spread all at once or is it just the United States or what?? I NEED DETAILS DAMNIT!!! NOW!!! LOL

Depends on how much they stick to the comic:
Cause of the Zombie outbreak and government collapse
Kirkman explained that going back to explain how the government originality collapsed, "...doesn't interest me, for the time being...I may change my mind eventually." As to the cause of the zombie outbreak, Kirkman wrote, "I have ideas [about the cause of the zombie plague]...but it's nothing set in stone because I never plan on writing it. So yes...I do know...kind of."
In response to a question:
"I think you should elaborate more on how people can turn into zombies without one biting you, or how this whole mess started in the first place. Was it like a plague or a rapture kind of thing?"
Kirkman responded:
"...That starts to get into the origin of all this stuff, and I think that's unimportant to the series itself, There will be smaller answers as things progress ... but never will we see the whole picture."
That's what he's said about the comic series, but I think to keep it viable for TV they're going to have to put out bits and pieces along the way of how it all started and let people try to piece it together. I think a TV audience will get bored with just having a run-on saga with no answers as to why or how.

I know a guy that knows T-Dogg, he is working an angle to get a few of us in, maybe as extra walkers.
A few thoughts from Sunday and beyond.
1. The lone walker was purely theatrical I think.
2. Shane cut his hand, killed a walker, cut his hand again. I think he turns at the end of the season, maybe symptoms at the end of this season to carry into next season.
3. They are going to move away from the farm this season. My guess is that this other group finds the farm. The battle between the 2 ends up killing Hershel and the kid. The battle also attracts the walkers.
4. Maggie and Glenn make up. Maggie ends up pregnant also.

Crave Online Ask: Are we going to see Merle again?
Norman Reedus: Yeah, you’ll see him. He’ll come back, eventually, and he’ll probably be super-pissed. That’s going to be interesting. Is blood thicker than these new bonds he’s made? There’s going to be a lot of confrontation going on, for sure.

We know who died, It was Dale.
So my gut was right about that guy they caught, When Carl went in the barn the guy was telling him he will take him and everyone to his group, I have a feeling that group will find the farm soon and 30+ against them will not be good. I wonder how the character of Carl will deal with being the reason Dale is dead.

I am also curious to see what they make of the whole "zombification" even when they aren't bitten. Perhaps it has something to do with what Kenner said? I'm getting the impression that Jenner told him that everyone has it and when they die they come back as zombies unless a brain injury kills them. I don't think being bitten has anything more to do with it other than in gives you a fever that will eventually kill you, thus making you a zombie, the bite itself doesn't neccessarily turn you.

I do believe you are right. Also, your theory does make sense. Perhaps its latent, until death. Its an airborne disease. Transmission must not be through bodily fluids, as was shown when Rick shot the walker through the other walkers head. He must have gotten walker blood in his mouth while yelling, as well as on his cut he gave himself. That's the only real option I think would be feasible.

Now some may say it would be a "Dawn of the Dead" rip off but. What if one of the women was pregnant like Lori, but miscarried or lost the baby in the womb.
Now that the virus is air born couldn't it turn the baby inside the person ?
Did they say it was airborne? I may have missed it, so please excuse my question if it appears dumb.
Yes, though, as others have said, I think this was the best episode of the season. It was so hard to sit next to my fiancee and watch it without blurting out what as going to happen. She was glued to the set and silent when Rick and Shane were in the field. Once the episode ended, and Comic Book Men began, she looked at me and said "Shit just got real..."
My thoughts exactly

It has not been verbally said yet but unless its an Apocalyptic world like "Dawn of the Dead" plot. Where anyone who dies turns just from hell being full then i think its an air born Virus that will be shown soon how it was created at some point. Also I for saw what was coming tonight without even reading the spoilers lol
I and my wife love the show and don't miss a second but the after show with the Maggie actress shocked me....She is English and looked totally different lol

Oh, the Talking Dead? I didn't watch it. I ran to my PC and watched Top Gear Season 18s finale. Sundays are Walking Dead, then Top Gear.
I wonder if Jenner told them that they all are already infected. That would be wild. Plus rumors are flying around about Meryle being in the finale. I won't spoil too much for anyone.(I know a decent amount of plausible rumors) Then again, they are rumors.
Also, Walker (the spoiler guy) said ALOT happens in the finale and he doesn't want to spoil it for anyone. Let's see if he sticks to his guns.

I dont think its actually airborne, i do think it is some kind of virus or mutation that everyone, or nearly everyone is infected with.
Maybe there are some people that are immune?

I read an interview last night with the writer and the one who writes the comic and they say that Rick will tell the group what Jennings whispered into his ear (Basically that the people who die become a walker) Since now he saw it happen to Shane. I got the chills when it showed all the walkers coming out of the woods heading right towards them in the field. Gonna be a AWESOME season Finale.

He may not spoil it, but there's a description of the episode out by someone else who's supposedly been just as reliable. I haven't seen anything by him so far, so I'm not sure how legit it is, but the finale is going to be intense if he's right.

I would have to agree, but even I would like to know what is really going to happen in the finale.
I was this way with christmas presents when I was a child. I wanted to know what my presents were, but I knew it would ruin the surprise if I found out. I also tended to tell people what I purchased them.

All of season 2 was a letdown. They needed something big in the finale to keep viewers for season 3. The new character and the prison are those hooks for next season.
I like the introduction of new people, but this was a stupid way to do it. No one armed with nothing but a sword is going to simply walk up behind the walker that takes Andrea down. There were hundreds of walkers in those woods.

Thats the character michonne i mentioned from the comic. Its a black girl in the comic with two zombies as pets that each have their arms cut off and jaws removed. She is suppose to join the group at the prison. Only spoiler i have found is that half of ricks group dies next season and one being ricks wife lori.

I wouldnt take to much of the spoiler info being correct, last night the writers were saying they havent written to much yet for Season 3, they are just really starting to work on it.
I just dont see how the 2 walkers are obeying her and just standing there and not fighting it, Arms or no arms, and jaw or no jaw, they are wired to try and kill and eat no matter what unless they are killed.

I'm praying this isnt the intro to American Ninja in Zombieland. Its a new series consisting of a cast no one has ever heard of.
Something I said on another forum:
So now we get Annie Oakley and the female American Ninja combining forces.
Outside of Rick miraculously finding the group with his wife and kid in it, I liked the realism of this group. A ragtag bunch of people that stuck together for security. The wild rednecks in Daryl and Merle. The wife beater and his wife and kid, Dale, Andrea and her sister. It just fit the type of group that would be found in this situation.
I'm sorry, but American ninja just doesnt do it for me as it doesnt fit anything to this point. If it gets too over the top, its probably a buzz kill for the show for me. They would have done much better turning Michonne into Michael and made him a special forces soldier that survived Ft. Benning or something.
MachNU
03-19-2012, 06:53 PM
Brett, the reason I take the spoiler info as correct is because of Michonne. So far they are staying close to how the comic unfolded. Granted not so much as the group as for a TV show, killing off and introducing new characters would not work for TV. As Jimmy has said, its the realism of the group, it just seems like a group of people who would come together for security as a random but efficient group. But the places they have traveled and some of the things they have done is in line with the comic. Then with the semi preview at the end with the helicopter, the prison, Michonne and them already releasing the info on the Governor, you can assume that Lori/baby will be dead next season. If they can kill off Shane and Dale, then its no problem to take the wife of the protagonist and kill off half his group, then introduce more. Which is the route the comic goes next season.
Killing Lori, losing some of the people too the Governors camp, killing off half of the season 2 group and forcing Rick/Carl/Survivors/New Group Members too flee else where would give them more of a plot to work with. At least this is my bet as too keeping the show going and making season 3 good and opening it up for season 4.

If I remember correctly the helicopter scene was from season 1. They used it again to explain the mass of walkers going that way.
Randall did say the group he came from was heavily armed.
Brings me back to season 1 at the CDC. Why didnt they load up on weapons there instead of walking right by them? In that situation one pf your top priorities is ALWAYS savaging. That is a lot of weapons and ammo they left sitting there.

So, I will chime in, as I have read the comics.
The Govenor is a guy who leads a large armed group who raids the prison where Rick's group has holed up. There is a woman with them called Lilly, who ends up shooting Lori and their new baby. She also murders the Govenor.
Also, Michonne has the two walkers with her who are trained to obey her. They are actually her boyfriend and his best friend. She is some weeaboo fighting magic user who is horrid. People loved her in the comics. She works for the Govenor and is so dark and brooding. I hated her. Seriously.
I hope that they don't make her as insufferable as the books.
Also, she gets T-Dog killed.
All of this happens in the comics. We will have to see what happens in the show.

From reading about Michonne from the comics I hope they change her character a bit for the show. I think they'll start to lose people if they start getting over the top with some things. I think as others have posted that so far this group seems like a fairly believable group of people that have stuck together to survive. I know the zombie apocalypse isn't a terribly believable scenario but they've managed to keep the group relatable to most people so far. I guess we will just have to see how they develop the story and new characters next season.

If Direct TV looses AMC i will be canceling and going to cable lol

Cant wait for this new season. There is seriously shit on TV right now and I am forced to watch Falling Skys for some post apocalyptic action.
