I've got a jdm b18b swap in my ek sedan & I basically need to know if the b20 dizzy will work on my b18b. I called NAD Auto & the guy said it should work but needed to know before I go the extra mile to purchase a new b20 dizzy. My local mechanic has tried 3 dizzy's & they will not work (b18a1, b18a, b18b1) from local auto part stores will not work & I need my civic running asap because I've got to get back to douglasville for a funeral & work asap, lmk asap IA

What do you mean by none of these work? If it still isn't firing with these installed, the problem most likely isn't the distributor.
I love threads like this, they never post enough information and expect good help.
did the car run to begin with, or did you just put the swap in the car? this is the key question.

Is the clip on the wiring harness different from the clip on the distributor?

Yes it was running fine for the 3 weeks owned it (swap was in place when I picked it up) & on my way to mcdonough Saturday it shut off while driving & running 75mph, tried giving it gas but did nothing but bog down so I pulled over, tried to start & all it would do is turn over but no fire, tried popping the clutch & it wanted to crank but just bogged & did nothing. So the mechanic has tried several dizzys & noticed some wiring being hacked up but it looks to me like its wiring from the thermostat ground to try to get the cooling fan to work....

I'm having the car transported from the dealership back to my house in douglasville, ordering the b18b dizzy off eBay. The mechanic did say mine was shot! Hopefully with me trailling the wires I can put an end to all the wires in that area & then trail the dead end wires I have inside the car that are running from the ecu.

It could be your ignition coil.

Ignition coil & rotor button was purchased for my dizzy & did nothing. The mechanic got a dizzy (not sure what it was from) got it to fire but didn't run (wrong dizzy- like others)

For all people that didn't read my other thread, prior to my car quitting I threw a code 9 (#1 cylinder sensor) which is the dizzy & would explain my jumpy/siparattic idle, correct? Then after all that was checked I endes up replacing my thermostat & bled the cooling system & found out my cooling fan wasn't working so I jumped the switch with a paper clip & my cooling fan works but stays on 24/7, I kept it like that to keep from overheating until I replace the switch on the thermostat housing.

And I should point out, it looks like the previous owner installed a jumper harness for my p75 ecu (making it obd2 to obd1 I guess?) Guess that will help explain for the wires I was talking about earlier maybe being spliced into the main wiring harness? If I purchase the oem b18b wiring harness will this bypass the spliced wires & jumper harness on my ecu? Will it be better to just order the oem non cut harness as well as the b18b dizzy?

You would have to use a wiring harness from a 96-00 civic. Just purchase another engine harness and jumper harness and your wiring issues should be solved.

Will do, I just got the car back to my house & will be checking it out in a little bit. The harness is the oem harness & it was spliced for the cooling fan which was right according to forums, also has a jumper harness already & I'm suppose to pick up a b18b dizzy up this evening so we shall see.

You don't need a new harness. The jumper harness has nothing to do with the problem. To get rid of it all you have to do is get a obd2a p75 ecu. Also make sure you get a obd2 dizzy.
