Weird noise when pressing brakes

98 Civic front brakes are making a strange "grinding" noise when I'm pressing the brakes. The brakes are new but I can hear the noise as if something is attached to one of the rotors. Anybody have any thoughts on what it could be?

Sometimes the two little clips on the pads are bent at an odd angle and grind against the rotor. Unless that's only happened to me lol

^that's what i'm thinking the issue is, either that (or this has happened to me ------>) the shield that's surrounding the rotor has gotten bent and is hitting/rubbing against the rotor. locate which wheel its coming from, pull the wheel and bend it back
