the ground on the starter wouldnt make it die while running , i'd check the alt connectors , and when you say dies when running , is it gas or electrical dying?

electrical. like id give it gas when its dying to try to keep it going but it just bogs down then dies..have to pull over wait for a min then i can crank it back up. i just popped my hood and noticed on the ground to the starter that it looks like its been spliced together but idk..im outta options

I would point towards the distributor, i had the same problem with a camaro, granted its different but my car would die all of a sudden and then start back up after a few minutes. Result was, my distributor was bad...
damn, could be anything, distributor, fuel pump, wires, etc

I just replaced my coil the other day costs 60 bucks and as long as you don't strip the screw on the rotor button its really easy
