i had a friend like that growing up... he always had to one-up me as far as equipment went. i got a dirtbike, he got a newer one. i bought a mountain bike, he got a more expensive one. i buy a video game, he'd get the newest system. it's just too bad considering he couldn't do shit with anything he bought (other than video games). he was a wimp on a dirtbike, and a mountain bike, and at any other sporting event for that matter ;).
