Good work so far dude! I recently picked up a hatch too and im in the process of cleaning it up and building it. Did a wire tuck in it too and im gonna pull the motor soon to get the bay pinted champ white. Oh and my boy is making me a custom battery tray to put the battery in the front bumper.

Properly secured battery AND battery box would cure the battery acid being slung around the car when it's up-side down thing again you're worried about.

This. Don't half-ass things and you won't get half-ass results :goodjob:

I bolted my battery box to the spare tire cover in my trunk, then also ran a strap inside the box, then the lid is vented with latches. Summit battery relocation kits are only like $50. Probably could piece one together for half that.
