The only thing we love as much as our women is our cars. For most of us, myself included... we love cars more than women. We do however, have a relative view on our cars as we do women. We all like unique cars, we want a car that not everyone has, and when we do have our prized possession, we dont like to share it with others or let anyone touch it... much like our women!

The thing is..... No matter how much that girl cleans up, whether or not she finished college and got that degree that placed her in that nice respectable office job. We still wouldnt want to know that she was a filthy whore in the past. Even worse.... to have a constant reminder of her past in your face everyday via facebook or to have pictures of her pop up every time you google search.

This is exactly what a 240sx is. In its purest form it is a prom queen. On its worst day it's a filthy skank hooker that gets passed around the frat party to anyone willing to take a turn. No matter whos hands this vehicle winds up in, we cant forget where its been. In the car world, once you go black you can go back..... to red, green, blue, yellow... or any other color, maybe even stripes if that is what tickles your fancy. We dont want to think about someone hitting the walls in our beloved and cherished sports car when we love and caress it with the polish wheel. We dont want to wonder how many times our mechanical obsession has been rear ended in its past.

I know what you mean. I know hondas aren't the greatest cars in the world, but hell they're everywhere. My very first car was a n 89 240sx and I loved it. I transferred over to hondas (which I regret constantly) because that's what most people in my area had. The few people with 240s despise us for some reason.

Well I detail cars for a living and I think I have an answer. People treat brand new cars like straight Shit no matter the value. With the 240sx being such cheap sports cars in their day, a lot of lower class people drove the hell out of them and couldn't maintain them properly.

well, the 240sx shares characteristics with some of the most successful and celebrated cars ever made... skyline, bmw, foxbody ect.... the cars you DO like... share characteristics with any generic sedan you could find at any used car lot around the world for less than 5k. There's not a decisive body line on the 200sx, you could slap a geo badge on it and nobody would notice. And thats just judging the cars on appearance.... completely leaving out that the 240sx/silvia is the little brother to a car japanese people affectionately named "Godzilla"

i understand taste is a matter of opinion but i honestly cant think of a fathomable excuse why anyone would like this vehicle and not anything else nissan makes... but thats me.

psychologist say that subconsciously what attracts us to women is hip to waste ratio and proportions. Clearly car manufacturers understand this as you can see how many sports cars follow the same template. If you look at every car i listed, they all have almost identical hood/trunk/roof ratios. I honestly dont understand how a car enthusiast can be so turned off by a 240sx. sometimes i feels like im talking about titties with homosexuals.

I'm a big fan of 240s, I think all the drifting hype has killed a lot or led to bad modding. When I say bad modifying I mean quarter panels screwed on, parts of the car different colors, the hole hellaflush thing, eBay turbo kits, but most of that stuff goes for any type of cars there some like that in every car community. Most 240s I see are beat up and spray painted some odd color and it's cool to them cause it's a "drift race car" they daily.

If you said the world was flat and i responded "most people think its round" that's not insulting you, simply stating a commonly accepted reality. There's certain characteristics that define a sports car. If you did a scientific breakdown of what those characteristics are..... very few of the cars you like would be a part of that list. Egg shaped sedans are not what most sports car enthusiast like. Doesnt make your opinion wrong....... just makes it uncommon. some people like obese women.... but that's not the most commonly accepted view of what is attractive.

The only thing that would make the red 180 on the first page any better is if it was the factory purple and the TE37s were silver.

I, for one, love 240SXs and always have. It's just not feasible to have one as a daily unless I have a four door car since I have my son. Currently, I do have my four door Accord so owning a 240SX is feasible.

They have their own following just like Civics and 240s have their own. I'm not trying to disagree with you, i simply just do disagree with you. Fast and Furious came out in 2001 and opened in theaters outside of Atlanta. People on IA "take a liking" to the same cars everyone else on the planet is. Just so happens that not too many people are that excited about taking a run of the mill economy car from the 70-80s and restoring it to look like the cover of a Haynes manual.
