My car has been jumpy in 1st and second gear since I first put the motor in back in February. What I mean is that it feels like you are pressing the gas and letting off over and over again so the car would jerk around front to back. I assumed that this was a clutch problem being as if I rode the clutch and drove it "just so" it wouldn't do that. I finally got around to swapping the clutch, flywheel, pressure plate, and throwout bearing this past weekend.
The same problem still seems to be happening. The only CEL I had before this weekend was for secondary 02 sensor. When I drove home from my buddies shop after replacing the clutch the speedometer no longer worked. I jumped the ECU and now it's throwing secondary 02 code and code 17. I left my Haynes manual at my parents house, but I am pretty sure that is the code for vehicle speed sensor. The sensor is plugged in and worked prior to clutch replacement.
Also, my idle is fluctuating. Up and down from about 1100 to 1400. Again, prior to clutch replacement the car idled fine at 900. Only CELs are code 65 (secondary 02) and 17 (VSS?).
Any ideas on these issues?

check out the shift fork it might not be releasing the throw out bearing for the pressure plate to work properly and vss might have something to do with electrical or you just need a new tranny cause it can be the tranny internals

The fork was working fine when I put the throw out bearing in. And I don't think anything happened to the tranny internals between 1 pm and 6 pm friday.

check the vss and make sure the little pin is in the sensor. fluctuating idle could be from not enough coolant.

Idle problem sounds like an IAC (idle air control) valve problem. They tend to cause the idle to fluctuate once the car gets to operating temp. You can try to remove it and clean it.

Could be your iacv or yout fitv, maybe even low coolant. You can try to burp (bleed) your coolant to get any air out of the lines.

You have the wrong connector plugged into your iacv, check colors and get back to me

I'll try and clean my IACV, but I don't see how it can work fine in the morning and not work fine in the afternoon. And I'll check the VSS plug. I hope I'm not just retarded and plugged the wrong one in. Coolant level is fine.

It's a three wire plug, and it's the only one that fits. Colors are:
Blue with white stripe
black with yellow stripe
and black

I'm waiting till I can get to the shop to take the IACV off. I'll be going over there later on today and I'll get back with you guys. And the car is my Integra. It's a gsr harness running an LS motor.

Ok, I fail at reading. I thought you were originally saying those colors were for the VSS. So that's what I looked at. The IACV is plugged in correctly. As per the colors that you gave. And it has been since I swapped it. I didn't unplug the IACV when I dropped the tranny. I cleaned the IACV today and still no luck with the idle issue.
And I guess I'll go buy a new VSS tomorrow and see if that fixes it and return it if it doesn't. I think it's a bit dumb to chase down a bunch of wiring as far as the VSS is concerned if the sensor might just be bad.
