10/15 202 yards, 2 TDs. 149 passer rating. Won a shootout with his arm and not his legs. I know this is gonna be a very hard one for you critics to swallow, so BRB, gonna get a snack and let you wrap your minds around this one and state your case.
35-32 Denver.

Improvement on the throwing game for sure, good yards good completions.
Barely beating Minnesota with a fg not so impressive.
Offense took a step forward, defense step back.
Next week will be good vs bears

Refs had a major impact on this game, lot of big play calls made against broncos and not made against vikings. Viking clock control in 1st half broke the defense and Percy Harvin did what Percy Harvin does......
Perfect game for me, got to see Tebow and Harvin both have a great game and get to blame the loss on an FSU scrub.

How many yards passing will Tebow have? how many would he need to hold back the critics? What stat line would you expect from a 2nd year QB in this game?
I'm picking this game as the "break out" game. Have seen steady improvement passing the last 3 weeks with last week being the most efficient passing of the year. The Vikings could be the most suspect passing defense on the schedule for the Broncos and they too are starting a young rookie QB in Christian Ponder. Ponder, unlike Tebow will be facing a formidable defense when these two teams pair up. I expect the Vikings to throw a pick or 2 and make things easy for the Broncos offense. Reports say Harvin is going to tip off the Vikings to some of Tebow's schemes, but what really can he tell them that they dont already know? I expect the Vikings to commit hard to stopping the run which is going to leave their already bad secondary in some easy situations for Tebow. The Broncos dont march down the field on Tebow's arm with 5-7 yard passes, but they do go deep pretty often when they do pass. I expect the Vikings secondary to get beat on play action probably twice deep. It's been a pretty steady routine for Tebow to have a "stat saving" play action bomb in every game so far. I'm looking for 2+ in this game.
Stat line prediction for Air Tebow - 15/27 230 yards 2 TDs.
Holy shit this guy knows his football.

theyre tied for 1st place..... but the Raiders play the Packers next week... and the Broncos do not.
side note, Broncos can only win in a gimmick option offense! Tebow 4 rushing attempts, 13 yards...... Broncos score 35. 67% passing, couple drops, 1 sideline catch called back, 1 long pass negated by hands to the face penalty.
Tebow threw 1 bad pass.... his very first pass of the game... and was nearly perfection for the remainder of the game.

You will never convince a hater of anything else, their argument will be as follows; it was only one game...it was against the 29th ranked pass defense in the league, so on and so forth, but if say Christian Ponder had a great game vs a lackluster broncos D he would be a great rookie QB

Lolol @ continual misusing the word "hater." Not understanding why if someone doesn't like something or someone else, they are labeled a "hater."
On the point of the game, Tebow finally had one that he can call his win. I didn't think his stats would be as decent as they were, but he did it. Props to him. Remember, though, it's just one game. Against a deflated Viking team. I'm not using that as an excuse for the win, but he still could really use a game like that against a good team. Later, QD.

To me, "Hater" describes someone who ignores the stats and results and decides someone is going to fail "just cuz". Tebow had a higher QB rating than Andrew Luck.... Peyton Manning... or pretty much any QB in the history of college that played for any team in a major conference and 90% of the ones that played in the creampuff league. Case Keenum @ Houston... new NCAA record holder... lower QB rating than Tebow.
Well fuck a duck... in the middle of making this post and looking at QB ratings that are worse than Tebows... i realized that Tebow has the highest career QB rating in NCAA history........................................... .................................................. Dont hear Merill Hoge talk about that too much.

"Hater" is defined as "bred from jealousy and envy." If I'm a fan of someone, I'll state it. If I'm not, I'll state that as well. And it won't be because I'm jealous of that person. Concerning Tebow's stats and ignoring them. It's not hard to see that there really isn't any worthy stats to look at. The only semi-impressive stat is "record" this season as a starter. Like I said earlier, he had a great game and he made the fans of this dude a little more believable.
I'm not sure why you keep going back to his college stats. He's not in college. Those stats mean nothing in the NFL. His entry to the NFL signified the end of his college career and the beginning of a whole new game. As evidenced by his stats this year, he is not the same QB he was in college. Later, QD.

"haters" is not a direct response to you.... the media criticism is what provoked Florida/Tebow fans. Preseason, analyst were saying the Broncos had a better chance of winning with their water boy than they did Tebow. Google search Tebow.... you'll find a lot more negative than positive. Never said that, i say you discredit every win he gets with some form of excuse...if he pulls of a miracle win somehow against the Pats you will come out with the "well there defense is very good, he got lucky" or "they played bad and thats the only reason he won", i mean obviously he isnt a prototypical passing QB but you cant discredit every single win he gets

Like I stated before, if you actually watched the games you know why. They ran up the score against trash teams, also they didn't have a traditional running back so they ran tebow 90% of the time they made it inside the redzone. Trust me, tebow wouldn't have won the heisman on a team like houston, stanford, or any other of your "non powerhouse sec" schools like u guys love to say. Face it man, he had an all-american football team. Know how many players from his years in florida are key players in the NFL now?

He played a different position from tebow so its kind of hard to compare stats. What exactly did Tebow accomplish without Harvin? Absolutely nothing.

No it isnt. It is given to the most hyped player on the best team. If it went to the best player it would have gone to Dennis Dixon the year Tebow won it. It would have gone to Toby Gerhart the year Mark Ingram won it. This is just the recent cases. There are a LOT more cases in the past.

"well, if Tebow tries to run in the NFL like he did in college, he will get murdered" - Tebow is rewriting Denver's record book for rushing stats.

Tebow's QB rating in college career was better than Bradford's. Tebow beat Bradford head to head in a title game. Tebow had more touchdowns. Tebow had more 1st place votes than Bradford the year Bradford won the Heisman.
I'm obsessed because i can support my opinion with facts.
I'm sorry i dont think jdm94coupe is a wealth of sports knowledge. You know what Tebow did after Percy Harvin left Florida? Raise his completion % from 64% to 70.1%, higher than any season Bradford had at Oklahoma. Barry Sanders 1 good season in college sure was better than Tebow's career.... you're right. Not. Tebow out rushed Barry Sanders in every season but his last season.
So, basically.... you're trying to convince me that a QB Tebow beat is better than Tebow... and a running back he out rushed while playing quarterback is also better. duly noted.
you cant support your opinion with stats.

I dont hate Tebow as much as this guy, but i agree with his analysis. Tebow has beaten a bunch of mediocre teams, the Defense is really whats helping the Broncos, hes shown improvement, but its nothing that will get you TO the playoffs and if it is , you arent going past wild card race
Tebowmania is on my last nerve. As the anointed one continues to get credit for his team barely sneaking out wins against a host of teams that are golf course-bound come January, I continue to shake my head. Are NFL pundits so mindless as to not be able to grasp the concept of strength of schedule?
The very idea that one level of performance might get you a win against Team A, yet get you blown out by Team B appears to be rocket science, but is totally over the heads of the collective sports media.
Putting aside how utterly asinine it is to credit a QB and a QB alone with "winning," here is the gauntlet of teams that Tebow has "beaten:" Miami, Oakland, Kansas City, New York Jets, San Diego and Minnesota. Not a single team listed there has a ceiling higher than "first-round fodder" in the NFL Playoffs.
In four of those games, the Denver defense held bottom feeder QBs to less than 14 points, making the degree of difficulty for the the Denver offense about as low as it gets. The two games where Denver scored more than 20 were against the awful Vikings defense today, and against the Raiders, where Carson Palmer gave them short fields repeatedly with interception after interception and Eddie Royal took a punt back to the house.
Against a Detroit Lions team with a solid defense and an explosive offense, the Broncos got absolutely dismantled to the tune of 45-10. That's the kind of score lines we would be seeing if Tebowmania actually had to encounter a decent team or two outside of their own soft division.
The only defenses that would make an offensive coordinator lose any sleep are New York (who suffered from having Mark Sanchez be their quarterback) and Oakland (who suffered from having Carson Palmer be their quarterback).
The lone game for the Tebow-led Broncos where they have had to play a team with both and offense and a defense was the aforementioned Lions game, and it wasn't pretty.
And Tebow isn't the only overrated part of the Broncos resurgence. The defense hasn't exactly been lining up against Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees or Tom Brady. They've seen Matt Moore, The Prodigal Carson Palmer, Matt Cassel, The Sanchize and the suddenly-inept Phillip Rivers.
Today, a Christian Ponder-led, Adrian Peterson-less Vikings put up 32 on them. So yeah, save the back patting for those guys too. They've had it almost as easy as Tebow has.
In the standings, wins are all that matter in the NFL. But in analysis, one must actually take the time to examine those results if one desires to be any more informative than W-L record on a piece of paper. The TeBroncos simply have not had to play and A-Level teams. The one B-Level team they played demolished them at home.
So what we are left with is some squeaker wins against average or worse teams. Nothing to see here; move along.
When the Broncos beat a team that has a legitimate shot at making noise in January, I will re-evaluate. Until then, Tebowmania is just a bunch of noise.

but in fairness.... the argument has now shifted from "Tebow will never be an NFL QB" to "Tebow can be an NFL QB in some NFL divisions, but wouldnt win the NFC north or AFC east" critics are back peddling. They've already lost the original argument, now theyre starting a new one.
The defense is the same defense that went 1-4 with Kyle Orton. Didnt trade anyone, didnt change anything.

I think the argument is the same. They are one in the same.
Orton played against :
LOSS PACKERS (12-0)
LOSS RAIDERS (WERE #1 in the division, and were healthy)
WIN Bengals (Won by 2, still 7-5 in the hunt for wildcard)
LOSS Titans ( Lost by 2, still 7-5 in the hunt for wildcard)
LOSS CHARGERS-( Ok the chargers suck)
I think its no secret Orton played MUCH tougher teams by todays standings. Titans are in a weak division, but who has tebow played:
WIN MIAMI (4-8 currently)
LOSS DETROIT
WIN OAKLAND (1st week without Campbell and without Mcfadden)
WIN KANSAS CITY (5-7)
WIN JETS (7-5)
WIN CHARGERS (4-7)
WIN VIKINGS (2-10)
Stats are stats, Orton played against every team with a winning record except Chargers. Tebows only played the Lions and jets (and oakland without its 2 key starters)
FYI the only team Orton lost a TON too was Green bay. Every other game was 5 points or less. Orton could just have easily been 4-1.
Tebow got the wins, but against much weaker teams.
The one GOOD thing about this, is that Denver is points away from being 10-2 or 9-3 , good news for next season!

im sorry im confused, back when i thought Tebow was a good QB in college and would be a good QB in the NFL, i was told "the NFL is a different league, its bigger faster than college, every defensive player in the NFL is bigger faster and stronger than Tebow unlike the guys in college he ran over"
i was under the impression that every NFL team was basically a *college allstar team and that every member of all 32 teams in the NFL was a paid professional athlete. That's what i was told before Tebow was drafted.
" Tim Tebow is lucky to be in the NFL, he should be happy he is even wearing an NFL uniform " - These words were spoke on ESPN news this morning.

well im not that concerned with the rhetoric everyone spews, its disturbing on both sides. The people thatwrote he deserves the MVP make me want to puke, and people that said he should be lucky to wear an NFL uniform are retarded.
Im just saying, look at the numbers. ANd i standby my statements.
Hes doing better, hes getting better, hes still not shown me anything that wouldnt make me trade him in a heartbeat for someone like Cam Newton or hell TJ Yates after this weekend ( :) ) , hes beaten a bunch of sub par teams, the Defense deserves credit, jury is still out

I think if we start this years schedule over NEXT YEAR and TEBOW Is starting, hes just as likely to go 1-4 like orton did.
But maybe the Tebow magic is he goes 4-1..............
the problem with Orton is he was interception prone, tebow isnt turning the ball over. I think a lot of those close games that orton lost, may have been wins had he had Tebow control of the ball.
Make sense?

I agree with you, i dont think Tebow has proven that hes the next Tom Brady. I'm just pointing out that the critics were way out line. He does belong in the NFL and can obviously win games. I dont expect him to be put on a pedestal, but he is due a certain level of respect that for the most part he hasnt got.
I've said in many posts that "what Tebow doesnt do is equally if not more than important than what he does do" in regards to turnovers. QBs dont have to be Tom Brady to be successful in the NFL. So far, Tebow has been a steady game manager and whether or not you think he's the reason theyre winning, he certainly isnt doing anything to make the team lose. Vikings played good enough to win and Ponder gave it back to the Broncos. That is the norm for rookie QBs in the NFL. Every game the Broncos have won people keep saying the other QB gave the game away... Palmer this.. Moore that... Ponder picks... ect ect... Nobody can say " Broncos would have won that game if Tebow hadnt have done that ".
His production so far isnt that amazing, but when it matters most.... he has delivered. Tebow's 4th quarter QBR is 4th in the NFL behind Brady Rodgers and Eli Manning.
Tebow was nearly flawless passing vs the vikings. He threw 1 pass that didnt hit the WRs hands... 1st pass of the game.

off to work, parting note.......
Rex Grossman had a QB rating of 73.9 with 23 TDs and 20 Interceptions the year the Bears finished 13-3 and went to the superbowl....
Wonder how the Bears are sitting if you remove a few of those interceptions and add about 8 rushing TDs.

Here's my support! Obviously you are so obsessed with tebow that you can't go on google...... soo sooo sad....
heres your link...... make sure you look closely!!!
http://sportsratings.typepad.com/college_football/2007/12/barry-sanders-1.html
344 ATTEMPTS for 2,628 YARDS...... 39 Touchdowns ....... 238.9 YARDS/GAME
PLUS....
5 touchdowns in the holiday bowl ......... 29 attempts for 222 yards
Tim Tebow CAREER Rushing Stats...... from 2006-2009.....
692 Attempts for 2,947 Yards and 57 touchdowns in 4 years.......
Summary......
Barry Sanders........ 344 Attempts for 2,628 yards and 42 touchdowns plus 1 kick return and 1 punt return..... making a grand total of 44 touchdowns in one year and 12 games
Tim Tebow............. 692 Attempts for 2,947 yards and a grand total of 57 rushing touchdowns in 4 years...... in 55 games.....
Better rushing stats then barry sanders? kill yourself and get off tebows nuts.....

You cant just act like stats are there. Grossman was VERY bad at times, and he can be very god at times. His problem is that he isnt consistant in anything he does.

You're not telling me anything i didnt already know and didnt already state. Barry played 3 years, had 1 good season. Also, remind you.... you're comparing a RB to a QB... thats the only way to compare anyone's stats to Tebow... is to separate Tebow the runner and Tebow the passer. Compare Tebow's body of work to Barry Sanders. Tebow had 12,223 yards and 145 TDs.

He has a good shot at being 7-1 considering the Bears are reeling right now with zero offense. The teams def seem to be crumbling before tebow when he gets his shot at them.
Hopefully the bears defense plays with some passion, would like to see them throw what they have at Tebow to see how he reacts.
Yates looked much more comfortable in the pocket than Matt RYAN let alone Tim Tebow. His arm is pretty impressive. As a PASSING QB he showed me more than Tebow has this season. IMO of course

Yeah, teams do seem to be falling over in front of the Broncos. The anticipation of having to play Tebow must be too much for them LOL. I didnt watch much of Texans game to comment on TJ Yates, just know that TJ Yates was a big understudy of Tebow in college and is a fan of his. Cant hurt throwing to a game breaker like Andre Johnson either.
Wonder how many empty seats there will be in the stands if the Broncos go into the New England game riding a 6 game win streak.

watch the highlights. The one shot he had down field where he tripped , got up, and fired a laser 40 yards was impressive. He looked really good, really .............poised.
Tebow is doing well man like i said, winning is winning. If he had played the first few games this year instead of orton they could have been 9-3 just from the lack of interceptions LOL. I think the bears is a good game for Tebow. Urlacher isnt one to play weak.
vs NE im honestly scared. the DEN DEFENSE scares me. Tebow doesnt turn the ball over. I can see them winning if Mcgahee is healthy

Ok and sadly id have to agree, that was a sloppy game by atl
I'm on the Tebow train. Maybe it's being a fan of a college team that runs an offense "that won't work in FBS football," but I just got sick of all the "experts" saying he won't succeed. And speaking of high school offense, two TDs for Demaryius Thomas in this game.
