So yeah my back has been killing me for 2 weeks now. All started when I was lifting some heavy stuff at work. I figured i just sprained a muscle or something, and it would get better on its own. 2 weeks, and it's not any better. Hurts the worst when I first wake up, then gradually feels better throughout the day. Anyone else ever have something like this? Should I give it more time to heal or head to the doc?

backs are the worst to fuck up and the worst to heal because if in fact you did screw it up which it sounds like..... they take months to even start to feel better i missed mine up by lifting something wrong and went to the doctor(some fucking good that did) he might as well said your jsut fucked for the rest of ur life because im gonna have episodes of just back pain to were i freeze and cant do shit(ex was jsut walking one day and my back just dgneuednvyhew and i got to a chair and i couldnt get back up because of the back pain kinda weird cause its jsut in the specific area it doesnt spread to like my leg or nothing so i guess its just a fucked up muscle that when i do something it goes crazy and causes pain) i have already had one and had to go to the emergency room and they did nothing but shot me up with pain killer that did absolutely nothing and then it gradually went away but i have always had problems with pain after i had the accident. uumm i asked him(doctor) about going to a chiropractor and he said that it may or may not help so i didnt go but i have heard that chiropractors did help other peeps with back problems they go every like other month or so.

anyways sry for makign it sound all bad and shit and hopefully it is not that bad in your case and hopefully it will go away nonetheless, but i would go to the doctor and have them check it out and see if something comes up.

good luck and hopefully everything works out for the better

well, not to be an ass, but it sounds like you lifted with your back, not your legs. other wise you probably wouldnt hbe having trouble. get one of those back braces, ifyou dont have one already. yeah, the look retarded but hey, wear it or have a bad back.

also try stretching a lot. especially whenyou first wake up.

i would go to the doc if you can and see because your back is something you need to take care of. something that may help is sleeping on a heating pad at night - the heat should make your back feel better. i do that when my back starts hurting and it really helps me.

sit in a hot tub a few times a week, or get some massages..thats the only real way to cure or make your back better.

You need therapy bro, hopefully you're no longer lifting.

Your back needs to heal.

What everyone said above is good advice but back's are THE worst....

Personally I would go to the doctor...have him give you some flexerall (muscle relaxer).
I've done all of the things listed above, and they do help, but my back never really got better till the flexerall.

Just happened to catch your post and sorry to hear about the pain you've been experiencing. I happen to be a chiropractor, and obviously without a full history and examination I can't exactly tell you what's wrong with you but I'd certainly suggest you seek some sort of attention if after 2 weeks now you don't feel as if anything has changed. Our bodies are highly effective at adapting and compensating for injuries, so just don't assume that without any care your back will "get better" on it's own so to speak. I tell all my patients that our bodies are good at forgiving but never forget and seemingly "insignificant" occurences over time can eventually accumulate to greater problems down the road, particularly when it comes to your spine. If you have any questions or need any further assistance, feel free to take it pm or you can contact me at my office at 770-522-0070 and I'd be glad to speak with you.

BTW- IA members JaimeCBR900 (& wife) and ahmonrah happen to be patients of mine!
