The fact is, Tebow is now 3-1 for a team that started 1-4.
I know every Tebow detractor is gonna pick apart the game and find a reason to blame or discredit Tebow for another victory, but it is what it is..... 3-1 and has now accounted for 20 TDs in 7 starts.

Eric dickerson? ..... face it man. Tim tebow is your favorite, he's no legend at any level. 100 one yard touchdowns doesn't make you legendary by any means. He's good I will admit but he is no where near great! Reggie bush was a better college player then him.

you are off your motherfucking rocker.......
Tebow had 88 TDs and only 15 interceptions passing alone in college football, he completed 67% of his passes (MUCH HIGHER THAN PEYTON MANNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) and finished with more rushing touchdowns than Herschel Walker. 1 yard touchdowns????? Tebow had 2947 yards rushing........ to go with 9286 yards passing. Only sophomore heisman EVER.... was a heisman finalist 3 times... 2 time national champion.
Tebow is the best college football player ever..... for you to say hes not a college football legend is pants on mother fucking head retarded............................ seriously........................... dumbest shit ive ever seen on this forum and theres a lot of dumb shit on this forum.

:lmfao::lmfao::lmfao::lmfao::lmfao: seriously dude reggie bush was an ok running back that played in a weak ass conference that to this day is not a prominent defensive conference, he got his ass shut down when they played a mediocre defense in Texas for the NC, Tebow is one of the greatest college football players to ever play the game and has stats to back it up, now whether it transitions to the NFL (which im not seeing enough to say yes) is another story, he hasnt beat any great teams in the NFL yet, the chiefs are ok so go fix that loose screw you got upstairs and then post :goodjob:

Statistically yes...no one beats him in terms of stats, thats written on paper. I think he made florida what they were in terms of wins, do rd snt matter how many TDs were less than a certain yardage its still a td, how do you explain all the yards? They werent just from those 5 yd TDs were the? Be realistic man, he was not the greatest running back ever but he was in most professionals opinions the single most dominating and game changing player in NCAA history

However good win for Tebow. I seem to agree with the analysts, a win is a win. I still think 6/8 for an entire game and like 88 yards passing is pretty terrible for a QB considering the option offense will NOT WORK in the NFL, he finds a way to win. For that you have to give him a pat on the back.
But i still want to see him try to do this against a Steelers/Jets/Lions/Ravens defense, he would be annilhated lol

and they beat the Chiefs, another sub .500 team FYI. Also the Broncos are in 1 of the two weakest divisions in the NFL. I dont know which is worse theirs or the NFC west, probably the NFC west lol.
We will see this weekend how they play. Jets, Patriots (MY TEAM) , Bears are going to be tests to see how well Tebow really is when he plays against a real defense IMO. Hes going to have to think faster and react faster.
If they beat the jets this weekend, ill start believing

the world will have to do a double take if the Broncos beat the Jets this week. The elite NFL defenses are gonna shut him down right now. The Broncos still havnt fully invested in Tebow, though im starting to believe they might be willing to. Tebow cant make the throws Brees and Brady can and he may never be able to. However, put Tebow in a rushing offense with effective play action, he will be dangerous. The play action really disguised his slow decision making vs the Chiefs, gives the WR an extra 1-2 seconds to get on their route. Even though he only threw 8 passes, 6 of them were catchable balls down field. Broncos will have to pass to not get embarrassed by the Jets. With no Moreno and no Mcgahee, its hard to imagine them being competitive vs the Jets. This is a game they should lose and should lose badly, but i'll be tuned in to watch it.
I'm just hoping that Brady demoralized the Jets in such a way that they dont see the Broncos coming.

i didnt even know those guys were out for them, so Tebow is going in at a disadvantage.
I think the league has evolved into a passers game. sorry, the defenses are too fast and quick. and people want to see points ,not running games. Tebow maybe could have been viable last decade, but in this day an age where the league protects the WR and QBs and wants to see deep passes, not having an arm is a problem.

sorry but you will lose this argument. Tebow is among the elite (i dont think anyone can say the greatest of all time because its too hard to judge) but he is definetly in the top 10. MAYBE some peoples top 5. Whether his team was national champ caliber or not is irrelevant. as Lebron proved, all the talen in the world doesnt give you a championship. Tebow wasnt guaranteed to win those 2 titles, but its nice he did walk into a top SEC school which has a history of winning titles. But he only went there because HE WAS THAT GOOD.
I understand your point, that other teams have had 1 super star that have propelled them, but Tebow still did some amazing things that we probably wont see again in our lifetime certainly not anytime soon.

This. Might as well start a thread talking about how great a runner Caleb King was in HS. :screwy:
As for Tebow, he is the antithesis of players who put up stats and still lose (e.g. Cam Newton). Love it or hate it, the guy can find a way to win. I personally think his college numbers are skewed, but they are there in black and white which is hard to argue without going into more advanced statistical analysis. Even then, "the best college player ever" is an argument that is really nothing more than a popularity contest.

NO, I won't lose this argument. You have failed to understand the real argument we are having. We are NOT having a debate to see if he is one of the great "college" players of all time. He will be etched in that forever, seeing how he is the first and ONLY quarterback to be allowed by his coach to run a qb sneek everytime a real skilled player got them into the redzone. The point is half of his rushing touchdowns belonged to his back or mr harvin. Do you guys not realize that they won the title in 2006 before he was the starting QB, he came into the best team in the country...
And the lebron thing, i can easily tell you don't know basketball. The miami heats lack of a title this year proves nothing! Dallas is an elite team STACKED full of shooters and hall of fame players. For miami to get through chicago (best record in the nba) and the celtics (5 future hall of fame players in their starting lineup) says GREAT things about their future!
BACK TO THE REAL POINT..... we were arguing that tim tebow was/was not the best college player in HISTORY!
BTW mike.... tell me the amazing things tim tebow did that we will never see again! not stats.... show me plays! amaze me..... i watched him week in and week out, he NEVER amazed me... and to answer your question, he earned his championships at Florida but with the team he had, it wouldn't have took much to win after walking into the #1 ranked team in the country. And nobody could do anything against their defense, look at all the NFL talent from his years at florida.

You lost this argument when you said reggie bush was a better player in college...and also if they didnt have tebow there to throw the "real skill" players the ball they wouldnt have for sure won because without his double threat they are just another pass first team. Tebow was the ultimate game changer in college, defensive coordinators were sleepless in the week leading up to playing the gators because of Tebow, he was stopped very seldomly in college and once was by one of the most dominating defenses in college football statistically (bama). If you are gonna pull the "he walked into a national championship" team argument you can sure as hell say the same about reggie bush...for the rest of your list...Herschel Walker is the only one off that list that compares. Mcfadden...seriously??? He was good but he couldnt win a game for his team let alone a national championship or two.

As far as this goes you are correct, but then again we are talking about college football, no one said he can run all over the elite defenses in the NFL...and lulz at your video any division 1 lb can lay the wood when they come in unblocked on a qb looking the other way, there are way more instances of Tebow running over linebackers and making them look like small children

Research? I know a thing or two about that, and I don't get my research from ESPN. It seems to me that you are biased toward "beast mode" type players. A good researcher knows that the numbers don't lie. Watching the game makes you think one play at a time, when the big picture is what really should matter.
*charles woodson: made acrobatic interceptions. Best at his position, plausible. Best at any position, not even close. A wide receiver who can't catch is called something else: a cornerback.
*mcfadden: was on a team that was far from trash. Most people in here forget that Peyton Hillis was even on that team.
*a. peterson was a MONSTER in college, because he was on a pass happy team. When the defense is never in their base package, nickel and dime backs weren't going to stop him.
*ricky williams dominated: agreed here. Ricky belongs in the discussion.
*peter warrick was electrifying when he touched the ball because a 26 year old was throwing him the ball.
*h. walker changed college football because no one else at Georgia was scoring points, other than Kevin Butler. Georgia completed 1 pass in their national title win.
*e. dickerson: A lot like Mcfadden. He and Craig James ran over teams and stayed fresh doing it.

I will make a few points.
1. Tebow was 2-8 for 69 yards with 56 coming on a beautiful throw to Decker for a TD.
2. Chiefs got crushed by Miami last week.
3. An elite linebacking corps like he will face against the Jets and Bears will eat Tebow alive unless he starts throwing a LOT better.
4. I can already see David Harris, Brian Urlacher, and Lance Briggs licking their chops at a chance to hit a QB that isnt going to slide.
5. The greatest CFB player of all time was the only 2 time Heisman winner, Archie Griffin.
6. Tebow's TD stats are HEAVILY inflated by the fact that Florida never had a RB on campus that could get a tough yard.
7. How many dozens of college QB's that were nearly untuochable in college go on to the NFL and flop? I would imagine there are more mediocre college QB's that thrive than great ones that do the same.

Many people would argue that Tebow SHOULD have been the 2nd multi-heisman winner. He was a finalist 3 times. Should have and would have won the heisman over bradford if they didnt vote before the 2 guys played each other. If you could go back and re vote the 08 heisman, Tebow would win by a land slide.

I remember Charles Woodson like it was yesterday..... you act like no good CBs ever played football before...... Patrick Peterson is the closest thing in history to Charles Woodson.... Tebow played against him and beat him. You also say Tebows stats are padded because he got all the redzone attempts..... well you know what??? you, the 100k people in the stands, every player on both teams, every coach on both teams, and the millions of people watching on TV also knew that Tebow was getting the ball and they still couldnt stop him. Florida could have put "TEBOW IS RUNNING A DRAW" on their fucking billboard and you wouldnt be able to stop it. You think Georgia was OK with Tebow breaking Walker's record vs them? you think they didnt try to stop it? Bottom line is, players dont get the ball because coaches give a shit about stats, Tebow got the ball because he scored TDs. Tebow threw for 88 TDs and only 15 ints and 67% completions vs Patrick Peterson, Dre Kirpatrick, Eric Berry........ 08 Florida would have ran over 97 Michigan.
also....Tebow came into a loaded team but Reggie Bush didnt????? WTF are you smoking kid????? are you fucking serious............. You do realize that USC played in the National title for 3 straight years right????????
You also know that Bush didnt have that many more rushing yards than Tebow did..... plus Bush plays in the Pac10....... can you even imagine what Tebow would have done vs Pac10 defenses?????? really????? seriously..........
For you to say things like "you guys gotta do more research, when did you guys start watching college ball? 2005?"
you sure are sadly misinformed, because for Tebow's entire college career he had every other team in the SECs fans screaming at their TV saying "TEBOW IS GONNA RUN!!!!" and nobody could stop it.

Again, irrelevant because they cannot choose how well the team does before they get there. Thats a privledge. Star athletes usually go to star schools so the argument that Tebow walked into a "built team" is a moot point. Of course he did, usually heavily recruited dont go to shit schools. Also, just because FL won the year before doesnt make him a LOCK to win the next year.
Also, if his running backs of HBs were getting him to the redzone and he scored , so what, thats the game. No rules against it.
the man won the Heisman, 2 national championships, Heisman finalist 2 other times, set records for rushing TDs IIRC, etc Doesnt matter about anything else, he was an elite College football player. he would probably be in most peoples top 10.
Im probably the most knowledgeable basketball player on this forum. Ive played 25 years of organized ball (and still play to this day 5 times a week at age 31), coached several AAU teams, varsity in highschool, played against Div 1 ASU teams on the practice squad, etc.
Miami got by an AGING celtics team that was critically injured when Rondo went out, the Bulls won a very weak division and they didnt have the size or the speed to match up with Miami. Also proves my point, arguably the best player in the MVP Derrick Rose doesnt make you auto win a championship. Im just saying many people feel LEbron is the best player in basketball, and hes not won a championship yet, hes just as good as when he went with a much weaker Cleveland team.
The miami heats lack of a title this year proves everything, despite their blockbuster talent, they got beat by 1 superstar (dirk) and a bunch of journeymen. Dallas has 1 hall of famer in Dirk.
BACK TO THE REAL POINT..... we were arguing that tim tebow was/was not the best college player in HISTORY!
I stated you cant say who the greatest of all time was because its an opinion and theres too big a field.
[quote]BTW mike.... tell me the amazing things tim tebow did that we will never see again! not stats.... show me plays! amaze me..... i watched him week in and week out, he NEVER amazed me... and to answer your question, he earned his championships at Florida but with the team he had, it wouldn't have took much to win after walking into the #1 ranked team in the country. And nobody could do anything against their defense, look at all the NFL talent from his years at florida.
I dont know if we will see an option style QB win 2 national championships and the Heisman anytime soon. Again, it doesnt matter what caliber team he walked into. Winners win, period. So basically you think any great player that goes to an SEC school isnt that great because they are already walking into a contender? That as i stated, is a retarded argument.

bottom line is, i make these threads to comment on and debate about Tebow's NFL career..... his college career is not questionable. If you dont think Tebow was a college great, please find another thread, because you clearly have no idea about football and probably wont have much to offer to the conversation. The only question to be asked about Tebow's college career is "is he the best of all time or the 5th best of all time". Whether or not he was great is a question on a moron would debate.
Broncos vs Jets thursday night! Knowshawn Moreno is out for the season. Willis Mcgahee is questionable with hamstring injury. Broncos have undrafted Lance Ball in the backfield behind Tebow. The Broncos are wayyyyyy under the salary cap, wonder why they havnt done anything in the free agent market yet. Theyre leaving Tebow on an island. His top 2 wrs are both 1st year players. Fred Taylor, Terrell Owens and Tiki Barber are free agents, i know theyre not anywhere remotely near their primes, but the Broncos depth chart is looking pretty barren.

Using that same reasoning it would be easy to say that after his Bowl game Tebow would not have gotten the Heisman in favor of Percy Harvin.
Also, Dennis Dixon had the Heisman locked up, along with a trip to the NCG, until he got hurt.

You think Georgia was OK with Tebow breaking Walker's record vs them? you think they didnt try to stop it?
Can't compare the 2. Not only did Walker only play 3 seasons for UGA, Bowl stats were not included in career stats. You also have to remember that Walker only played 36 total games with 33 counting towards his stats. Tebow played 55 total games and all of them counted towards his career stats.

bottom line is, i make these threads to comment on and debate about Tebow's NFL career.....
I haven't commented in here for two reasons. One of those reasons is I wasn't sure if this was the topic or if his college career was the topic. The other reason is in the response to the next quote. I've learned NOT to argue with you when it comes to Tebow. There is no convincing you that he is anything less than God-like so why try, you know?
If you dont think Tebow was a college great, please find another thread, because you clearly have no idea about football
This would be the other reason I stated above. If someone disagrees with you about Tebow, that someone knows nothing about football. I'm not slamming you or anything like that, but that makes no sense at all, dude.
Whether or not he was great is a question on a moron would debate.
I do want to ask, though, is Tebow a relative? I'm not asking to be a smartass. I'm really asking because your responses to anything negative about him just seem to be stemmed from more than just being a fan of his.
Again, you may take this as me "attacking" you and respond accordingly to that assumption. Hopefully you'll take it as it is meant to be and that's just addition to the discussion. Later, QD.

If you honestly have to ask why anyone would be such a fan of Tebow, you clearly didnt pay much attention to his career. How can you not understand?..... his life story has been on the TV every week for the last 6-7 years. Watch a video, read a book, you'll get it. I'm from Ocala Florida, when i cut myself i bleed blue. Tebow is more than a football player, he's a humanitarian. There's absolutely no reason not to have respect for the guy, regardless of which team you pull for or how you look at the stats. the only thing in question is him being an NFL QB or not, nothing else can really be debated.

im not even comparing Walker and Tebow in that comment, i honestly respect people who think Walker is better because i realize how dominant Walker was and could have been. Its a fair argument. What im saying is that people act like everyone was OK with Tebow padding his stats or something. I guarantee every player on Georgia's defense tried to stop Tebow from scoring on that day.... breaking the record is one thing, doing it vs Georgia is another. Im responding to the "Tebow got all the redzone attempts", and my response is that, everyone knew Tebow was getting the ball and still couldnt stop him. There was no trickery about it.
Walker is another one of those players that you have to respect, even the most die hard georgia hater should respect Walker.

You're right. I didn't. Never was really a Florida fan.

Now I can see, a little, your obsession (for lack of better term) for the dude and the team. No problem there.
There's absolutely no reason not to have respect for the guy, regardless of which team you pull for or how you look at the stats.
If you'll recall, I've never once stated anything adversely negative about him. In fact, I've only stated that I can't make judgement because he hasn't been around long enough to do so.
nothing else can really be debated.
I do agree here.
I appreciate the civil response, dude. I'll add to the conversation (topic of Tebow in the NFL) in the morning as I am hitting the hay right now. Later, QD.

Very much obsessed with Florida football. Tebow is more than a Florida football player though, has had a much bigger effect on the world than scoring touchdowns. Most people are a bigger fan of his character than his ability.
