ok long story short i have a ls crank eagle ls rods and je pistons in my GSR block...its making a ticking type sound when you open the throttle a little bit.

i was told that its making this noise because of the pistons float on the rods??? is this true i just dont want to break something this is my first build?!?!

please any help will be rewarded!!!!! thanks in advance!!!

If it is cold, sometimes you will have piston slap.

your valves may be a little out of adjustment and at higher rpm's you may not be able to hear it.

Now what if you can hear it when the motor is warmed up. like crusin the the neighbor hood etc.

did you measure your piston to cylinder wall clearance? did you degree your cams properly? are you sure you adjusted the valves properly? not dogging your skills, but gotta be sure..

If you have loose piston to wall clearance (usually from a set of stock bore drop in pistons) you will have more noise, but its hard for anyone to say over the internet

im quite sure it would do something.. but whether or not it will hurt something depends on what it is... and at this point we dont know what it is

i remember when we did my friends poor mans type r he put wiseco pistons in and he had to move the oil squirters in the block over a lil bit then we just put locktite on them and tightened them. we did this because the piston was barely hitting them. this may be your problem even though you didnt put in the wiseco pistons. i've never installed je's so i was just throwing that out there.
