Ignition Problem

so i've been having crazy issues with my ignition and was wondering if its best to buy one new (which is about $280 more than I have to spend right now) or can I buy one used and if so anyone have one for sale???

Car is a 1994 Honda civic ex coupe 5speed stock D16z6

Well the car has cut off on me twice now while driving several times it has failed to start initially thought it was the starter but tested the starter and its good, but still wouldnt start by turning the key alone so I ran a wire from my starter and kind of rigged a "push" button setup and it started fine for about a month until recently. So now I've noticed that the key has to be in the ignition a certain way before it will crank even with the push button set up I have

it is possible you need a new ign switch, if so they're relatively cheap

ok I'll check into it... I just know that I cant afford the whole ignition right now... preciate your help bro
