Anyone do any timelapses, especialy starscapes?
What lenses and settings do you use?
...like any landscape but longer. You have to pay attention to external light sources. Of course use a tripod.

Mine come out like daylight so far. I think I'm running the ISO too sensative.

A faster shutter spd will darken the environment down as well as a higher aperture. Is it possible your surrounding light is making your shots too bright? To get good night photos with the stars to show, it should be dark enough for the star's light to overpower the surrounding light. The picture above the mountain and trees are lit by the moon... had the moon been dimmer the stars and sky would have been more of the focus (of course a longer shutter spd would have been needed).
Balancing light (be it natural or strobe... or both) is one of those things that will become easier the more you do it. Takes a little logic and experience but no real finite formula = one of the many variables where photography becomes an art.

I've played with different settings - pretty sure that I need to get farther out of the city.
