Thought I'd post this in here since most of the guys we used to race with were from IA. For those that don't know, Brad committed suicide around mid Sept. last year.

It'll be on Sat. Nov 5th 12 PM - 9 PM at the 411 Dragway in Knoxville, TN.

From the event description

"Hey everybody!

Mom has been wanting to get a group together to race and celebrate in Brad's honor. We have been lucky enough that the guys at 411 are willing to let us do just that. And not only are we racing, but it's for charity. Originally it was supposed to be in Ringold, Ga (half way between here and Atlanta), but they ended up not being available.

There is NO ENTRY FEE, for racers or spectators, but we are accepting donations. Anyone and everyone who wants to race is welcome. If you have a racecar, bring it. If you have your mom's minivan, bring it. ANYONE can race. Any donations made will go to the Georgia branch of NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness), the same company we took donations for during Brad's funeral. I still don't have all the details, and I will post more information as I get it.

If you enjoy racing, come. If you enjoy watching racing, come. If you were a friend of Brad's and you want to just celebrate in his honor, come. Any out of town folks that would like to come, feel free to contact me, and we will look into getting you settled somewhere in town (if you are staying overnight).

Also, feel free to share this with anyone you know. It's a public event and since we made it a charity race, the more people that show up the better! Hopefully if we can get enough of a crowd, we can make this an annual thing, so invite any of your friends who enjoy racing!!!"

I know it's a long drive from Atlanta, (probably ~3 hrs?) to the Knoxville area, but it'd make for a fun road trip.

I'm in Houston TX now days, flying for a regional airline - but I'm going to try my best to make it. The Cobra is still in Atlanta - and it needs some exercise.
