I have a 2000 Honda Civic EX and the car has a small oil leak. This morning when I cranked it up I could hear the valves ticking pretty good. Well on lunch I added about 2 quarts and it seemed better. Well going down the road I hear it valves ticking real bad and then just grey smoke pouring out of the back of the car. I had power until around 2500 rpms and it wants to die. Able to limp it back home. I just need to know how to fix this or get it fixed just need some help with this major issue. Would like to replace the whole engine with the same motor or a Dohc version.

Sounds like you lost oil pressure, and boom.. If it will not start or there is a hole in the block then motor is toast.. That ticking may have been a good sign that the motor was on its way out...

Start looking around for a d16y8. That would be your stock replacement motor. If you wanna go DOHC you're gonna have to buy a new transmission as well as a few other things.

The car will start and run but smokes like hell and will lose power when I hit 2500 rpm and smoke real bad. Ill look for my motor and look for a trade hopefully. How much should I ask for my car if I sell out right?
