Here is my son's 89' CRX Si I gave him for his 16th Bday.
This is what it looks like when we got her...

..still not finished, next will be paint and body as soon as I find new fenders and a new 91’ front bumper.
Then the interior will get a makeover with some racing seats, NRG quick release, roll cage, install the new a/c unit, carpet, etc…
I’m very proud of my son he’s done a great job restoring it and doing it right, I think he’s earned it!

This is beautiful, man. Love the car. I have a feeling, though, that I won't so much after your "to-do" list is done. Would not like to see the bumper swap, racing seats and roll cage going in there. That'll take away from the "restoring" of it.
Right now, the car is perfect. Props, dude. Later, QD.

Thanks for all the props, I am really proud of my son's work and so is he. Although we have our to do list, that may change as it did from the beginning of the restoration.
The wheels are Konig Roller 15X7.5 +32 wrapped on Toyo Proxes4 195/50R 15 (thought about going with 205’s but Ethan was against it because he was afraid they would rub).
Again we appreciate all the good and positive things said here, and all the suggestions. We’ll be at wild Bills next week to take her out on her first meet after the restoration.
Thanks again.

LOL..Actually his PS3 crashed about 1 1/2 yrs. and I refused to get him a new one! Even though all he really did was play car games and spent most of the time fixing them and changing their set up to make them go faster, I don't think he really actually played the game just to play, it was more to fix the cars in it! lol...

Stock motor?
Yes, it still has the original D16a6, with a Megan Racing header, SS N1 catback exhaust, cold air intake. The engine runs very strong and has pleanty of power, I didn't want to really do alot to it as far as power adder because he is still 16 and has alot to learn about driving, he don't need a super fast car nor do I think it's wise. But it still a quick little car....

Smart move. I had a bone stock '84 318i when I was 16 that I got running when I was 15. Learned a lot about cars with the hands on, and it was plenty quick enough for me. I beat the hell out of it and didn't get in trouble. Progressively got faster cars the older and mature I got. Nothing wrong with 75whp at 16 years old. lol

My son has his own room at the shop and plays with all my tools trying to help .He has since he could walk. He is five now. Hell when i was threwing a quick paint job on the si i was letting him help us sand the primer. I would put a piece of 400 sticky da sand paper on his hand and let him sand away . About a week after i painted it and put it back together it was in the shop and we was working on it . My dad says were is ashton i was like i dont know some were around here . He had picked up a piece of used 80 grit and was sanding the newly painted quarter for daddy lmao. I said ashotn what are you doing boy . Im sanding daddy arnt you prowed of me . I couldnt do anything but smile lol. I dont like the clear i used when i cleared the si but i dont want to repaint it because the scratches will always remind me about when my son helped me sand lol.

Yeah, he actually ended up traiding the car, it wasn't practical for him to keep at the moment because he has 2 small kids. So he traided for a 4dr. Civic. and yes that teg had a top mount turbo set up, w/a Super T70, it was very fast.

It's hood spacers. Some get them to fix clearance issues with a motor swap, some say it draws more air through. I don't think it does though.
and good call on the grandkids. I didn't want to offend anyone if that was your 16yo's but I know I'd kill my kid, lol.
