sensor or gauge?

my temperature gauge stopped working but im not getting a cel for it. when i unplug the sensor i get a cel, when i plug it back in, no cel but no reading. is it the sensor or the gauge?

Pull your temp sensor and inspect it. If it's a brass sender, it's not uncommon for them to corrode or eventually stop working.

before, my sensor broke but it wasn't throwing any code. I didn't unplug to see if it was my gauge since it was visible.

Check and see if the wire came off the single wire sensor on the side of the head, it wont throw a cel, simply because its just for the gauge, the ect is still working.

i havent gotten to try it yet but i think that might be it i know the plug fell off. what can i do to fix that?
