knock/rattle

First off I have an 04 rsx type s. As I'm driving down the road, in a straight line at 40+ MPH, I hear a knocking noise from the driver front area. The sound speed stays consistent as I increase in speed or RPMs (the pattern does not change). If I'm stationary there is no noticible noise. Also I hear the noise when rolling in neutral. Only when I hit my brakes does the noise stop, and it stops immediately. When I release the brake it starts again. I really don't have a clue what it may be so do any of you on here have an idea? Any helpful input will be greatly appreciated.

knocking noise or more of a rattle noise?
Has it just recently showed up? (Its drastically gotten cooler where i live, and atl area isn't so far so i assume its the same there)
The most common one is the dash board rattling against the windshield, note that this rattle will go away/appear when weather changes.

I just noticed it yesterday, and it has gotten cooler here also. I would relate it more to a knock. It stops as soon as I hit the brakes and starts right back immediately after I release. I don't know what that could be related to.

Since you say this I would jack the car up and shake the wheel.. if that don't help put the car on jack-stands, and with someone's help simulate a drive.. Have someone put the car in 1st or 2nd reaching speed, listen for the noise, apply brakes, etc.. Having a lift would make it easier, but I understand some people don't have that... If need be take it to a shop and pay to have it looked at.. Hard to guess online, but sounds like you should make it a point to figure it out asap..

Ok, I'll give that a shot. It's a pretty loud noise though and what gets me is I feel no change in the way it drives, no vibration in the steering wheel, and cant feel it in the pedals. I dont know what it is but I'll mess with it tomorrow and update.

im thinking wheel bearing(s) or lose lugs like i had once buahaha

The lugs were my first thought. They were and are tight now. Bearings are a possible culprit though.

Might be an out of round rotor knocking against the pad. And be sure the c.v. axle nut is torqued good too, thatll cause the same problems. Bring it over if it still does it.

I was refering to the loose wheel bearing issue. Take your c.v. nut loose, go drive it and see what happens.... I just had a car with the same kind of issue and the c.v. nut was loose and the wheel felt loose while driving.

sounds like a wheel bearing just had this issue two weeks ago
