steering wheel/car shake

i have a 95 eg coupe. when im on the highway going 70+ mph the steering wheel starts shaking really bad. i checked my outter tie rods to see if it was loose and it wasnt. but one thing i noticed was that the boot on the inner tied rod was torn on the end. could that be it? also i know i need an alignment really bad and was wondering if that could be it. it shakes worst when i go on anytime type of curve also. this is driving me nuts! i need help! anyone has any advice?

If you know you need an alignment really bad then get an alignment. lol It will definitely help with the symptoms if not fix it completely.

Same problem with my car I gotta get it figured out am guna replace my tie rods and get an alignment if it doesn't work that what could.it be

yeah cuz i know my front passenger tire is wearing out on the outside. so im hoping that would help

people keep telling me it could b inner tie rods or the strut bushings but i checked those and and they are fine so im hoping its just the alignment

It doesn't take much alignment wise to really change the way a car feels, even tire pressure can make you think something else is wrong. Get an alignment and ask if they can inspect the rest.

But if you get an ailgnment first and they inspect your tie rods and they tell you they are bad than you just wasted $50-60 in alignment because after you change the tie rods you have to get it alinged as well

had a some what similar issue with my integra ,sounds like you might need new tie rods, i had the similar problem. i replaced the inner and outter tie rods and got a good alignment and it rode great

It could simply be that your wheels need to be properly balanced. Also, if your alignment has caused cupping or feathering in your tires--that could also be the problem.

Lift the front off the ground. Try to wabble the tire from left to right. It may move a little, but there shouldn't be any "slop." If there is slop, look into tire rod ends.

Then try to wabble the wheel up and down. If it moves at all, inspect your upper and lower ball joints.

If the car has been wrecked. Inspect all control arms and bushings. Bent control arms should be replaced immediately, along with their connecting bushings. If you have any dry rotten or squished bushings, replace them. Don't dare align a car with these symptoms. You will waste your money.

Don't pay someone to do this. It's easy.

Now, go get new tires if your current ones are severly worn.

Don't get an alignment with worn tires. It can throw off the geometry. If you can't afford new tires. Get used tires that have similar tread life left, and avoid tires with unevem wear.

Finally, get an alignment. If your car is lowered beyond idiocy, go to GTE for an alignment. They are usually okay with lowered cars, given the said car has adjustable aftermarket control arms that will compensate the differences.

yeah i bought got new tires from my car and it fixed the severe shaking of the steering wheel! i just had bad tires on the car even if it had threads on it. but now it still shakes a little. but i still havent got an alignment but i will do that method that u just mentioned! thanks!

Well you need to get an alighment man. You dont want to kill them fresh tires!!
