I get this error when i try to open up any file on my computer.

Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item.

What system is it? Have you installed anything recently? Are you logged in as Admin?

I usually got those on some items i had removed partially or associated files to.

had this same trouble recently. i googled it and found what i needed. some how i was able to "take control" of or re-take control of the ownership of the file or something like that

Something moved the file to a different location.
