I recently swapped a gsr into a eg hatch and i def need a gsr throttle cable. I was wondering if a B16 throttle cable would work on a gsr or if the manifolds are not enough alike. ANY help would be nice. Thanks.

yes sir. just make sure you get it for the right car. just ask for a 97 gsr or something like that. its a 5 min swap.

where did you go? some auto parts will order it from the dealership for you. you just pay a little $$ extra

i have bought one at oreillys before. they can order from the dealership with no extra charge considering the match prices.

don't need a GSR cable - stock civic will work fine.

however, it will not route like stock. you have to turn it 180.

in pic below, it is routed by the fuel filter and visible. never had any issues with this, as I'm too cheap to get a new cable...

I always get the correct cables when doing the swap makes it look like it was made for the car. VS someone throwing it around to make it fit ....Same with radiator hoses I have seen people do some dumb stuff when swapping motors out.

i always used the 92-95 civic one on all my swaps it will pull around that way and go right where you want it. and on others i just modify the brackets. never had a b series cable in my life.

cynical 1: can i get a close up pic of where its routed and mounted?

worst case ill just scoop one up from oreillys. no big deal.

The ones that rig their bracket up looks like crap , if you don't care about appearances then go for it . Me the dealer sells the correct cable for 19 bucks

listen ive won 26 trophies in 4 years and the last 2 nopi's i got trophies so i think its fine as i customize the whole bracket as looking like stock but customize the length i need and bend it to my needs and bet you what ever you want you cant tell the difference! thats just your opinion not a law! if you want to blow money when you dont have to on shit like that and can afford it like some of these guys instead of putting it some where better then so be it but mine works great and obviously no one has ever noticed it!

you sound way to pretentious. every post i see is "i race, i have this, i have something to prove. no one ever gives me any credit. "

agreed with tech5. dealers are a better fittment. but if you have to make due, it is possible. its just like the 5 different brackets for eg civics. bend and twist to make it work properly. i made mine of billet aluminum. it works amazing. do what you have to to make it work properly. then if it is not a "looks" issue then run it...

I had to pick up a throttle cable from acura when I did my LS swap. Wasn't expensive at all.
