So i was driving yesterday when the car just stopped running. It turns over but doesn't crank. I was getting no spark so i replaced the distributor as it had a bad sensor. Still no spark.. but the thing is I used starting fluid just to try it and it try starting and stayed running, but really shitty before cutting off. I took the lines off the fuel filter and turned the car on. Nothing flowed through, and the fuel pump made no noise. So I'm replacing the fuel pump, but if it doesn't work the only other thing I can think to try is the relay, but where is it located? It doesn't show up on any of my panel diagrams.

the main relay is located close to the fuse box up under the steering wheel. Its big, you shouldnt miss it.

I'd try that relay first. Start cheapest solutions then work to the more expensive one's after.

Okay, im completely stumped. I have a new dizzy, new fuel pump, and new main relay. No fuses are blown. I have no spark and no fuel. It tries to run on starter fluid. Also, when I turn the key theres no noise from the fuel pump, but when I ground my test light and stick it in the back of the main relay the fuel pump kicks on. What the hell else could this thing be?

check ecu fuse

Fuses are good. And the wire i stick the test light in on the relay is green with a yellow stripe. thats the only one that kicks the fuel pump on. im gonna check the ecu for any problems, but what else could there be if thats not it?

ECU pins and connectors all look fine, the ecu fuse is fine, all wires around the ecu appear to be fine, but still no fuel or spark. When key is turned to on position before attempting to crank the car, the cel stays on the entire time, i thought I read somewhere it should turn off?

if you bypassed the relay and got power to the fuel pump and it turned on, then your "new" relay is still the issue.

Try cranking the engine with your little bypass wire installed and the fuel pump running.

Ive tried cranking it while bypassing it. still no spark. could the ignition switch be the problem?

Sounds like your fuel pump.
I had that problem with my sol last year

i would check the ignition switch i have had them go bad on me like that before. if it isnt the main relay then that is most like it.
