Forged Performance: Caffeine and Octane+Porsche Club of America Coverage

The Forged Performance Team had a very busy weekend, as usual. We participated in the Porsche Club of America Track Day at Road Atlanta and attended Caffeine and Octane Car Meet in Alpharetta Ga.

This month's Caffeine and Octane was extremely active with the front parking lots full by 8:30am. Like always, Atlanta’s nicest classic cars, exotics, muscle cars, high end imports and everything else you can think of made their way to the Starbucks by North Point Mall. Each month, the crowds grow stronger and it's only a matter of time before we'll be taking over all adjacent parking lots. It's great to see the Atlanta car culture alive and well!

This weekend we also took the Forged Performance Porsche 996 GT3 out to Road Atlanta for the Porsche Club of America Track Day. We are avid motorsports enthusiasts here at Forged Performance and like to jump on any opportunity to get some laps in at the track. Much of what we test and learn translates directly to our customer owned vehicles and it's reassuring to know that our performance strategies are pressure tested under the rigors of track use. While this was a Porsche based event I saw a wide variety of high end track prepped race cars participating. The heat was brutal but so were the cars, I haven’t seen a group of cars of this caliber battling it out on the track for sometime. Then again that might be the Porsche Fan-boy in me talking. Sharif, in our 996 GT3 held his own against some well prepared GT3 Cup Cars and other high powered machines. He also set a new personal best in our GT3 with a 1:32 laptime in the 100F+ track temps!
