Its not just you... I have had many mentioned that I should take it off.. Good thing is, it does come off :) Right now, it serves as a billboard to advertise ;)

Here is a before pic with less aggressive wing and painted hood....

I actually have to admit that this car looks pretty damned good. The diffusers are not my taste, but it can definitely pull them off.

Are most street cars built to look like track/race cars?

OP, not meaning for that to be an attack. Later, QD.

Not taking as an attack here.. But to put my 2 cents in in this topic, car doesn't have to have this look to be tracked. In many cases, some of the roads I've driven on can't be replicated by any track. IN those instances, I have noticed a difference with my aero parts (the bigass APR wing). But that being said, I'm no race car driver and I don't think many on this forum are. I have tracked several times but that was with my stock RX8 and with my first FD (also stock). Tracking doesn't always means you need a built car nor have to have high HP. I think many I have met tries to compensate their lack of driving skills by making their cars faster by horsepower.. This car, I will eventually take it to a track to see how she does at a certain track I've already been... but its a car that I built for trying different things out.. I've had this car for over 7 years and fun of it is seen what it can do with certain parts and going back to what I've tried. I like the building aspect and how car could be different from other... But if my priority was just driving, I think I would be on a different forum.

All that being said, I'm trying out different suspensions and NEW wheels and Tires (Yokohama AD08s) have been ordered for taking out on a track and street :)

It's all good, homey. I'm glad you took my comment smoothly. I wasn't trying to be negative with it. I honestly don't like anything about the car, but do respect your dedication to putting things together and trying things out. For someone to keep a car for even a year or two, much less seven, is unheard of these days. So over kudos to you, sir. Later, QD.

Luckily I'm not a child and understand where you were coming from.

I wasn't trying to be negative with it.

I know you weren't.. I understand as I have heard about the track comments before... I just wanted to share my thoughts as most people who tends to say such a thing aren't serious track people nor have tons of experience.. Not that I do but I know I'm not going to track for a day and next time around change everything to track again.. Nor would I serious track something where I spend quite a time and passion into it. If I were to track, I would buy a stock FD and do nothing to it for a year and change things when I become a better driver.

Thanks, I understand.. This car isn't for everyone.. But thanks for the prop on understand the dedication I put in.

You are absolutely right... Very few people these days will stick to a car for couple of years... People tends to build, sell, and buy something else. I've kept this car for 7+ but my first FD, I had it for 11+ years. FD RX-7s are what I know and will never get rid of them... thankfully, my wife understands that. Next FD or RX8, I'll buy will be to bastardize on the track to have fun.. Just going to keep it stock and learn to drive it.

Here are some track day pics when I had the 8..

RX8 was a bone stock 8, just MS kit and MS catback. Stock suspensions and I drove it daily for 2+ years

The car looks fantastic man. I do like the more subdued spoiler a little more, but even the wing doesn't look out of place.

Thanks.. Another reason of me taking the daily 8 to the track was to see its limit.. I think I hit the limit few times when I was out on the track and also good to drive it in the rain (different sort of limit). I highly recommend those of you who daily your car to take your car out. It doesn't matter if you are the slowest... its about knowing the limit of the car when and if (hopefully not) when you experience it in the real world. Also, start off in a track that when you do go off, least amount of damage can be done on your car. I was very happy at TGPR as when you loose it, you just go off to the grass vs. to a wall. I'm all about being a better driver at these track days vs. going fast... also to be honest, I don't have 200-500 for a weekend to be competitive... to be a time trial kind of person, you need to drop some change and also expect your car to be destroyed.. I'm just not feeling that with car like mine.

I totally hear you. Like I said, its not for everyone and even for me, I question about the 'looks'. But I'm going to go one more level up in craziness within a year and later, it will be back to more subtle look.
By the way, I looked at your Civic build and much respect!! Building back old school car like that sometimes takes much more time and energy than just adding pre-made parts on your car.
