Cutworm Specialties in Hayesville NC.

Since this car has been built there are now 2 more like it
being built on commission. A shorter version of #1 with
some improvement adaptations from the first. Then there
is a truck version (#3) that will have a full drag race setup
with 600+HP, beefed up frame, and a 5th wheel in the bed
for a goose neck trailer which will be custom built to haul a
hot rod.

For this shoot I had a model lined up to come work with us...
she didn't show up. So I just did some just car shots to turn
our frown upside down. I wish I could find some models
that do not have "hot chick syndrome".

You can go to my flickr account to see the images in "huge" if you would like.

Killer shots. Hows was the second shot lit? Those are some gorgeous tones.

1 and 2 were lit entirely by strobes (that orange behind the engine must have been from a distant street light). I had to use the focus assist from one of my strobe's hotshoe mounted to get a focus it was so dark. Once I got the focus right, I turned off the auto focus on the lens, detached the strobe and put it on a wireless trigger on a boom to elevate the strobes about 8 feet high pointing down at the car. I used 2 strobes like this and walked around the car holding them up high while firing them repeatedly manually.

awesome. what are you using to wireless trigger the strobe? I only have a hotshoe mount that can do that.
