Hey guys, having some issues with my clutch/transmission, hopefully someone has experienced this before.

When I start my car first thing in the morning (and it's cold out, don't know if that has anything to do with it) but I absolutely cannot get my car into 1st gear. Clutch all the way down, and nothing. If I wait a few minutes and keep clutching in and out trying to get it in 1st, it will eventually go in after like 10 tries, not pretty though, have to force it. From there the shift to 2nd happens, but with a little resistance, and after that I'm pretty much good to go. If I come to a stop and keep the clutch in, then obviously no problem taking off, and the shift to 2nd, 3rd, etc are pretty easy. If I come to a stop and clutch out and then back in, well sometimes it goes into 1st, sometimes it doesn't and we're back to square one.

your problem sounds weird.
heres the break down:
if the springs on the clutch disk were broken, it'll be always be engage, as in you couldnt sit at idle with 1st gear in, car will keep rolling or stall out.
-same thing goes for throw out bearing and pressure plate
if it was clutch master cylinder, it'll do the same thing in each gear ( not enough pressure to engage the clutch )
as of the tranny, if not enough fluid, it'll grind and do it in each gear.

this only happen in the morning? or anytime during the day?
you've checked clutch and tranny fluid correct?

Is there any sound when your not touching the pedal? If there is I'll bet throw out bearing, but do as others said check cable / hydro first

there's a sound when likely press on the pedal and it's coming from the trans. where the slave cylinder is, you might be right it might be a throw out bearing...

btw i just changed the master cylinder.

yes!!! it is the bearing... i'm sure now.. but if i were to change the bearing, should i change both bearings and clutch/flywheel or just the bearings?

It could be that the spring may have popped out.
