I brought new tires for my ek, i thought maybe it would be a good idea to give them a little more meat on them I was running 195 50 15 so i brought some 205 50 15,I didn't even think about fact the car is lowered. I have taken the rims off and put steelies back on. The rear tires when i hit a bump or anything on the road the wheel hit the top of the wheel well. Never happened with the 195's. The question is can I replace the back tires with 195's and run 205's on the first will i really fell the difference at all in the ride?

205 n 195 are the width, it shouldnt differ if hitting the top of the wheel well. Are they a different brand/style of tire?

do you mean that you are rubbing on the fender now?

if so, I'd just do a small fender roll.
I personally feel a difference between the 205 and 195 as far as traction, but you may not. it's not major and it really depends on how you drive the car.

Different brand but same style tires. I thought the 205 was like from top to bottom or something. SO 205 is width- what is 50?- and 15 is opening inside the tires ( where rims goes). Sorry I don't know shit about tires.

I'm not sure I could be just the fender hitting but it sounds from the inside of the car it he wheel well it pretty loud.
Doing fender roll I read the DIY write up, I also heard you can do it with screw driver? or is using an bat? Any idea?

probably fender :goodjob:

personally I'd go ahead and just rent a fender roller. its still relatively cheap and isn't as tedious/risky as using a bat.

the 50 is the aspect ratio of the height. A 205/50 is going to have 50 percent of the width, the 205 mm. So a 195/50 is going to sit 5 mm shorter than a 205/50. On top of the slightly increased traction from the extra width, your speedo will be off also, because of the increased rolling diameter.
