Ok since all i had to do is swap the wheels and load the car to be ready to go i decided to try to make tomorrow as pleasant is i could. I love to race and i love this event. I dont love being hot as hell ,sunburnt and just miserable by the time the end of the day gets there so i did something about it. I hooked up a ac,dc convereter in my truck then put four charged batterys in the car trailer and hooked them all together . So tomorrow while all you guys are hot as hell we will have fans blowing under our tent lmao. Ive been wanting to this for several reasons .
1. place to charge computer, nintendo ds, and anything i want on long trips.
2. second to be able to run fans or what ever i wanted at the track.
3. what started the idea is i hate going to pick up a car and my batterys being dead in my car trailer this way my truck charges the batteries as im driving and when i load a car the winch pulls from truck batteries as well as the two in the car trailer .

converter installed

i would never try to charge three batteries off a stock altenator but i do beleive it will keep them charged after i fully charge them at the chop to start off with. At the very least if they are dead my winch will work of the battery and altenator in the truck as long as i leave the truck running while using it. All and all i thought it was a good idea what you guys think ?

I dont normaly post anywere but here and the all motor setion so thats why i put the thread here.

I also put a brand new 12,000 pound winch with a keyless remote switch for it. Im always picking up cars by myself so i cant begin to tell you how nice the cordless switch has been.

FWIW, My dually has dual Optima Yellows and is 22 foot long. I put a 750cca battery in my trailer to run the 9k lb. winch. If you have a factory big round plug, the center pin (only a 12 ga. wire or close) is designed to charge. I have been running mine this way for a year with no issues. battery holds a charge perfectly.

I though about doing that but i converted my trailer to the smaller plug so it would work on just about anybodys trailer and now i have a big round plug to the small plug adapter. I was kind of strapped for time but your way would deffently be the proper way to do it . Either way as long as the batterys have a charge to start off with the altenator keeps them topped of with out any strain on it (works great ). I had 2 diesel truck batterys in there untill theives started stealing batterys and stole them . I didnt charge them but about every six months . The main reason i did this is im tired of everybody burning up my relasy in my winch trying to pull a car up with dead batterys . I love my car trailer but i hate lending it out something always happpens and it was always like that to start off with.
