View Full Version : D16Y8 Bogging Down Under Full Throttle

Haven't done much yet, cleaned the throttle body, IACV, replaced the fuel filter, a bad plug wire, and put a new thermostat in.

When at idle, if you go full throttle, it bogs out and stalls the motor.

If you ease the throttle and feed it up to 1500 RPMS it will rev up fine without stalling out.

Just when you are at idle and give it full throttle, it will stall out.

I can still drive it, just have to ease the throttle.

But I really want to get this fixed! Help?

From personal experience I have had my sohc ef just die on me while driving and it turned out it had jumped timing, dizzy must of moved or something from missing bolts. Center the distributor and make sure its bolted down properly, if that doesn't fix it try and find another dizzy. Make sure ur getting fuel also/primes
