So you lost HP with a cam swap? 75-290,300=(215,225)...LOL

I'm just guessing based on how it felt... and I usually include parasitic losses when claiming shot size... 100 shot = ~85whp... 75 = ~65whp.

It was a pill that has made 65whp on a full bottle but the bottle had a few pulls on it. felt like 290-300 to me.

and remember my camera man is chunky... :ninja:

Is that an excuse? LOL... Crazy how you can tell if your down on HP huh? Big difference from 1000psi to 800psi.. ;)

Good runs tho!!

Point blank Moseley car is fast on the bottle and off the bottle. I respect his setup and Matt setup. Believe me you can't really judge if my car is really fast or not by the video. Everyone has their own opinion and to each is their own. Only thing I can say to you Mike is come on and try me

I give you props, that car is a monster on the big-end.. I'd hate to see it in kill-mode, that would have been ugly on the freeway...LOL

Lol I'm retired. Nice car though looks good

My point was like I told chunky that while I know your car is easily an 11.0 or faster car, the problem with the 2j cars in s13 chassis is TIRES. If you were on anything but ET streets it's tough for a car like yours to gain traction and of you aren't brake boosting, a high powered NA car will give you trouble.

You make almost 200whp more and it's tough against a car that has instant power and about 2000 more rpm than you.

That's a fact.

It def is fast though and looks like a clean install.

Oh and you have 300zx wheels so it's not like you can run a 315 tire which is prob what you need making 450-700whp

rev limit = ricer shift light ;)

h22 jones
04-24-2011, 10:53 PM
Thats not when your suppose to shift ? Some cars are so fast you cant grab the gear before it hits the rev limiter simple as that lol.

This is so true... I half to bounch mine off the rev limiter untill I find trackion lol

His problem is prob related to the fact that the stock s13 gauge cluster is about 2000 rpms ahead of the 2jz computer. It's nowhere near accurate. You have to buy a tach convertor or run a digital shift light.

my gauge is accurate. i'm running autometer cobalts. my tach is wired through my dli and its accurate with the tach through my aem. its just me not shifting early enough. it gets there so quick

i still had issues with mine, like the tach was wired in through my AEM and DLI but like you said it gets there too quick. It still wasnt 100% right. You should bump the rev limiter 300 rpms and set your shift light earlier. Do you have valve springs? I had Crower springs and retainers so i wasnt scare to rev it.

Although i did spin a main bearing which ultimately put the car out of commission lol

h22 jones
04-26-2011, 12:11 AM
Yea listen to the man that spun a main bearing lol . My rev limiter is only about 1,000 rpms off in the hatch lol. I changed it out and its about 500 rpms of now lol. I guess i need one of them big monster tachs bolted to the dash wot wot lmao.

Vteckidd
04-26-2011, 04:54 AM
Yeah problem with the early aristo blocks , thrust washers were defected and with a heavy clutch you get dsm style crank walk.

Did run 11.0 though on low boost

I think this man is crackin jokes at me lol... but I think that motor had some issues thanks to exospeed twice in a row they got me... but my man mike fixed it up and we goin for them big numbers this week... and my car only revs to 5grand then makes a bwahh sound to we set the rev limiter at 4800

With more seat time I think you'll get things figured out so that you hit the clutch in time to prevent it from hitting the rev limit. What mike said also helps. If your motor is spinning up so fast that the crank has enough momentum to keep the RPMs going up even after you clutch, you should raise your rev limit a couple hundred RPM to allow the motor to free-rev after the clutch is pressed without bumping the fuel cut. The other option is to setup full throttle shifting w/ anti-lag in the AEM. LOL.

Yeah that would be sick. here's one of my fav youtube vids with some nice full throttle shift + anti lag action:
