What is the big deal that you are making about buying a motor as opposed to building it Bobby? I mean just because some of us like Mike and myself have the means to get one in an exchange for the fruits of our labor(which we are enjoying while they are still ripe) and some others like yourself and Chunky use there time to build the motor. Each individual in this case is exchanging time and skill for the motor. Also in most cases the individual that buys the is having to do something that they may not be as passionate about so really the one that builds the motor is the winner in this sense(doing something enjoyable and enjoying the level of satisfaction gained when the build is completed) and should'nt be critisized for being as Mike said "RICH"

I know someone on this forum that bought a motor and UMMMMMMMMMMMMM CLAIMED HE WAS GONNA MAKE 300WHP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and bought a lot of what he thought were top shelf parts THEN STARTING TALKING A BUNCH OF SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but sadly he fell short as he is on the left side of the K curve. So it does take some knowledge and listening to the right people and a lot of planning to come out with a proper well setup build. It also as Mike said means that you have to try things that have not been done before and see what happens. Something that few can claim something that Mike and Chunky have been known for.

No NA Honda ever scared me besides disco monkeys car. He actually ran consistent 11s.

Everyone else (including me) never cracked out of the low 13s.

But you can have all the Hp in the world and it doesn't mean shit if you can't drive. Just cause you give me the keys to a 300whp NA hatchback doesn't mean I'll run 11s. It's easier said than done.

So if someone says they make big power, cool, doesn't mean you can't be beat by a lesser powered car (Greg knows this) and that's what I warned him about. Just an observation, the coupe has a 02-04 type s tranny and 15" wheels, should cause 4th to run out around 117 or 118. and he was pretty deep in 5th, so I'd say 130-135 when they let out.

Im running low 12s mike with a stock 5 gen prelude gearing . Look it up but im sure the car could trap over 160 lol the gearing is terrible but its a dailey. i do agree with the 4.9 final in the new set up it would run out mph . I cant wait to get jasons car together then finish my new build . Unless b series dont pull like h series on the other end of the track that should have been a nice pass mid 12s for sure unless its been so long since ive made a pass that im forgetting my 1/8 mile times. Im pretty sure i was varely breaking 8.9 1/8 with a stock h22 and now im high 7s so yea that sounds about right . Mid 12s at 110mph that pass just guessing so what does it run?

hell ive never broke a axle on slicks and poped a 400hp axle on dragg radials last spring at import show down . I never got a good pass with dragg radials because my gearing already sucks and the drag radials are way taller then my slicks but the trapped out real good. I think i ran like a 12.7 at 112 on drag radials ill have to look.

I enjoy the how many pounds of boost comment myself lol. nemo never claimed not to have spray everybody just though he had a ls vtec thats why he wouldnt pop his hood it had nothing to do with the spray hell the bottle was mounted in the spare tire well with no interior lol. MPH stayed about the same all night, best et was 7.98 @ 89.. Never ran 1/4 cause last events i planned for it rained, and since we had my son I haven't been back to a track.. :(

For the first 3 years when Luis had the hatch, we were always 100% open about the setup and what it had. every video posted had all the details.

then it wasn't until he got more involved with the guys here on IA that all this drama and secretive stuff started. haha

So I've posted recently in other forums and sure word travels so some people already know but the hatch has a set of toda a3 cams in it. maybe not the best cam for a K20 but they seem to be on par on top end power at least. again I think dyno #s are just dyno #s so I don't want to get into that.

I plan on being there for import showdown, and since everyone in ATL who gives a damn will be there or know someone who will be there, there's no point in me being secretive about what the car runs. My best ET so far at commerce was a 12.24, best trap 111.8. those were all with 1.75-1.77 60' times though. I went back to commerce after sorting some things out, cut a 1.67 60' but missed a gear, then busted an axle the next run :)

I hear silver dollar is usually a tenth or two quicker than commerce so if I can cut a 1.6x down there I'll be shooting for an 11.9x. not sure if it'll do it though.

Well you trap higher on street tires or drag radials then you do on slicks so a 103 trap on street tires is a low 13 second pass with a 2,200 pound car well close to that. If you got a good launch you might break into the 12s with that trap. 13s is a respectable time for a all motor car man be proud of it. I just have the advantage of having endless motors and parts to play with since i own a shop . If i had to pay for all this i wouldnt be building three different motors trust me lol.

You're finding out gearing is just as important as Hp/liter. I warned you against talking all bad and cocky when you have ZERO racing experience. Your turbo d lasted less than three months and you hVe never had a fast NA car so you don't know what it's like. Which is why I told you over a year ago be careful what you say and how much you talk yourself up. You didn't listen and anyone who searches your screename will see the comments you made. I think your car makes awesome power, but You leave something to be desired. You lost, get over it, accept it, LEARN from it. Don't insinuate someone cheated or robbed you of a fair race.

3) my comment to the midnight auto guys is simple and I meant no disrespect. Your car looks fast , I'm sure it's very fast. But my point was good luck finding someone in Atlanta to run you for money full slicks vs full slicks on a street race. I've been here much longer than anyone in this thread besides black r. We were NA street racing 10 years ago. I can count on 1 hand how many times someone had slicks at a street race. You break shit and it's an instant $1000-1500 ticket so no one usually risks it. So knowing that I meant (and you seem smart enuugh you should agree) that a 11-12 second car on 24.5 in slicks, runs 13s on street tires. Or better yet change your 60 foot times to 2.2s and what happens to your ET.....

4)@Bobby I'm not the all motor king, I don't think I'm better than everyone else. I'm not a grease monkey either. However, I do know what I'm talking about, I do know a ton about engines, parts combos, what they make, etc. I had access to a dyno for 5 years and I've had the ability to test parts, setups, engine combos almost unlimited . That's the perks of running performance shops. I've also been contracted to test parts for various companies that I gave detailed and informed comparisons and write ups. I've taken classes to learn more about EFI and tuning, not because I want to be a tuner, but vbecause I wanted to LEARN more. I can NOT tune a car, but I can tell you how. I can NOT tune a car, but I can tell you where it should make peak tq, peak Hp, vtec crossover, bsfc, ve, etc.

Likewise I've built prob 10 engines in my life. 1 was mine , 9 were for other people. I'm not a great mechanic, but I can tell you how to build a motor. Imnot a great engine builder, but I can tell you what parts make what Hp usually within 1-5whp of a persons goal. Having said that, any motor I've "paid for" wasn't a blank check I wrote. I was always extremely involved in my parts selection, or it was all my ideas. I may have not ported my head, but I wanted a certain job done. I may have not assembled my 2.0l bottom end, but I selected all the parts that were used in it.

So this notion that I'm clueless and have no idea what I'm talking about is and has always been BULLSHIT. You ask me to prove something, I can. I don't hide behind a computer screen or use some Cop out like "I don't have to prove anything". Well if you don't want to prove anything don't make bullshit claims. Don't claim 224whp then say "I don't have to prove it". I my book that means you're LIEING and trying to act like you achieved something you know you can't.

well the people i REALLY admired to and mentored me, and i looked up to was you, johnzm, len, and chunky.

your car was like my last CRX, capable of 12s, just never got there lol You had plenty of power, but its HARD to get a great time in a chassis that is really setup up for daily driving and not tracking.

Truth. And to be honest, The motor is certainly the main race aspect of the car to date... There were plans for developing the suspension a little better and beefing up traction issues... But as you know these things come with a hefty price tag, when done fully and appropriately. Im not as art with H as I am with Bs but I can prob guess pretty close. I mean there were three h23s that came out of mainstream with same parts all made same power.

I got my sneaky peak kit hooked up today now im just trying to figure out what kind of times these all motor guys are running so i will know what pill to put in. Strech your bringing a all motor car right ? what kind of times ? I need to know how fast i need to go .

h22 jones u need to go as fast as u can to satisfy urself... ive seen ur builds and respect the work u and ur father do, u guys seem pretty knowledgable, so props to u guys....however, i not coming out to prove anything, we been street racing and track racing for years in NY, so we just about seem it all.. we have raced hondas , dsm, muscle cars, even bikes, win or lose we just race cause its wat we do... u seem like u do this cause u love it too so u should be able to relate to wat im saying..... we are bring a white turbo integra, a black turbo bubble an the famous blue k series bubble u hear everyone talking about.... we bringing them out the compete and have fun with yall... recently i (stretch from NYC 2 ATL Speed Company) and Morris (midnight Auto) join forces and decided to combine our skill and shops together.... our new shop name will be Midnight ATL Performance..... we will be in woodstock GA, serving the race community to the fullest...... so with that being said h22 jones, bring ur A game so we can all meet and race all out and put faces to the names on IA....

Im not as art with H as I am with Bs but I can prob guess pretty close. I mean there were three h23s that came out of mainstream with same parts all made same power.

I never thought yours would make 250+ and I was pretty impressed when it did. I'd like to see you run a car like Mosely just to see where it stacks up.

i might put a shot on the new set up for big hp cars on the street but we will leave the grocery getter alone , Gas is to high and my dads truck gets like 9 miles to the gallon so he needs the grocery getter runnning lol. It does ahve a golden eagle block, cp pistons ,with crower rods so its not like i couldnt if i wanted to :) who knows.

I'd say 250+whp any motor + a 100 shot in a good chassis = lots of kill stories. why would it have to be an H series?

Id like to make 300 on motor then a 100 shot lol but we will see . I like to get as much out of something as i can then do something a little different . My point is if i was making say 275hp and only running mid 12s i would get my car were it should be before i added the nitrous instead of just threwing it on there to go faster lol. 110 shot might would make it a 11 second car but i should be a 10 second car see what i mean.

None specific has said that exact statement and I think h and k are great allmotors... don't care to much for a bseries and not you but there are a few on here that talk all kinds off crap about they'll "run" on motor then the come out to race and there on the bottle
