View Full Version : Rant of the day

I don't rant very often but I'm going to for a moment.....

3 months ago my idiot Mother crashed my car damaging one of the wheels beyond repair. I searched high and low for a replacement but decided that it was time to upgrade anyways so screw it.I ordered a set of wheels from one supplier and ordered two new tires for them from www.readywheels.com. I ordered them from there simply because it was the best price shipped out....No other reason. Both orders were filled fine and the wheels and tires sat in my garage for awhile (about 2 months). A couple of weeks ago I had the car brought in for service and at that time decided it was time to get off my donut and have the wheels and tires mounted balanced and aligned. After this was done, I found out that one of the tires I was sent was bad and that it needed to be replaced. . I wasn't scheduled to get the car back for another week or so, so I put it on the back burner. When I finally did drive the car it was as bad as my service advisor said it would be. The tire caused the car to pull to the right and caused a seriously horrendous drone.

Wednesday of last week, I called the tire place and explained the cituation. They told me they would gladly replace the tire but in order to do so, I would need to pay for the tire initially, and they would take the charge off my account when I had sent them the old tire. Now normally I wouldn't go for this but I explained to them I didn't have a donut for the car and that I couldn't just take that tire off send it to them and wait on another tire. So when they asked for what essentially ammounts to a deposit, I didn't think any thing of it. So I gave them the deposit and as told I would have a tracking number on Friday (4/1).

By the end of business Friday I hadn't recieved a tracking number nor heard anything from these guys so I gave them a buzz and was informed that their systems were down and that they were unable to process the order at the time they took it but that it would be processed that day and I would have the tracking number on Monday (4/4).

Monday rolls around and again, same thing, no tracking number, no phone call, no tire. So i pick up the phone and call them and get a different story this time. "When we took the order we didn't actually have any of those tires in stock and we only just recieved the crate today so it will go out on Wednesday and you'll have it by Friday". Keep in mind I was never told any of this when I placed the order five days before. So now I'm being told Tracking # Wednesday, delivery on Friday.

It's been a crazy week so Wednesday slipped by me as well as Thursday when I realized Friday(yesterday) morning as I sat at work that I had no tracking number but my tire was supposed to be delivered that day. So I gave the guys a buzz to find out whether or not we were still on schedule around 10:30. The fun really begins here......

I call guy answers the phone I ask about an order and he asks for my name and stuff and then places me on hold. Two minutes later a woman picks up the phone and tells me they have been trying to contact me for several days because my credit card was declined. Two things are wrong with this statement. First of all there was no way in hell they had tried to contact me. When I placed the order over the phone,I gave them my cell number and TWO email adresses and had the guy confirm them back to me(pet peeve I'm in Sales/Customer Service). The second is there is no way the card I used was declined as there were more than enough funds in the account the entire 10 days of the waiting period.

I proceede to tell the woman that as much as I would like to believe her that I don't buy her story(not in such a nice way as I was VERY PISSED at this point). I ask to speak to a manager and she tells me there are none in the office at that time. I had to be in a meeting at 11 so I told her I would call back when I got out to see if anyone had come in by then. I got out of the meeting around noon and call back. The guy that picks up the phone claims to be a manager and as I try to explain the cituation he keeps cutting me off to say he already knows whats going on. Finally he asks what he can do and I tell him flat out "I want a tire in the mail today....period that's all I've been asking for and you guys have had three different stories as to why it hasn't happened as of yet.". Manager tells me it will be done and gives me his WORD that I WILL HAVE TRACKING INFO BY 6 O'CLOCK. I thank him and hang up the phone. Both of my email accounts go to my phone and by 6:20 I still am empty handed.

I call back and the guy says two things contradicting himself. "Check your spam boxes....You'll have the information within the hour".

Needless to say its Saturday and I still have nothing. On top of this I can't get the on the phone even though their web site says they are open today their phone number says they are closed.

Now I'm scratching my head out over $100 with no tire./LONGRANT

So this is interesting. I just realized OP quote himself in his sig, obviously due to thinking it was funny enough to warrant being there.

Who does that?

Nevermind. I got it. Somebody who would also publicly call their mother an idiot. Mystery solved.

The company you're dealing with is probably just a few cubes with a few people taking orders. They have no "warehouse" or even a single tire within the building. All they do is locate old/overstock tires and broker a deal to Joe Schmoe and have them drop-shipped to you. The 1st grade level of English on their front page is a big indicator of a poorly run company.

WOW!^^^

Well update. Tire was shipped out today will be here tomorrow.Problem is they used all the old contact info and shipped it to my parents house instead of mine so I'm going to have to drive down to Tyrone and pick the fucker up on my day off or something. They gave me a UPS tracking number but said they shipped it FEDEX. Like others have said should have done what I usually do and bought the tire from a reputable dealer. I usually don't take short cuts like this but I did this time and it smacked me upside the head. Here's hoping when it gets here its not defective or damaged like the other one is.

When you get the tire...or just go look at the other tire you got from them, check the tire's manufacture date....bet it's old as shit.
