Car meet starts around 8ish.

We are getting the parking lot, which is right behind Wild Bills, again. It is bigger, and better lit than the current. GWINNETT MEET HAD OVER 400 cars last week, and there's no telling where it's gonna go.

We are hosting a BIKINI BEACH BASH after party that will be located inside of Wild Bills.
****For the bikini bash its 18 to party and 21 to drink. Wild Bills opens at 9:30.****

tonight was my first time going to this meet and it was not a good first impression.as soon as i pulled in the parking lot i see these idiots trying to fight,what really pissed me off is that the fight moved towards my car and a crowd was in the street around my car and i was trying to go and these morons would not move out the way.i left as soon as i got around the crowd i think ill just stick to going to the varsity meets.

Had to pull the plug on the meet if people don't wanna listen. It's wasn't much for the fight, but the crowd that followed. There will be 2 Gwinnett PD officers in the lot next week, and lot will be closed off after it hits capacity. There are many other changes coming along with it, some might like and some might not. So much for a Free meet for everyone to enjoy every week.

Gwinnett Meet - $2 per parking spot. Yes, I know that got your attention.

Starting 09/13/12 there will be a $2 to park at Gwinnett Meet. Lot will be closed off once capacity is hit.

As result of past couple of meets we had to make some drastic changes to the meet for it to stay alive and not have a repeat of prior locations. Funds will be used to make it a quality meet & grow from there. Gwinnett PD will be present inside the meet, tickets will be handed out from Littering to Improper Parking to doing activities that show lack of using common sense. If one can afford to mod his car, one can afford $2 to help a meet grow better than before and last longer.

Like I have said on the Facebook group page. It's quality > Quantity now. This has been a chill meet for free for 6 years (I even paid outta my pocket several times at riverside & bills), and idiots got it shut down at numerous places, Riverside being the best location. Same fate won't come to Wild Bills. People can pay $2 to be in a secured parking lot monitored by gwinnett PD and not worry about someone drifting into their car, run them or a family member over while walking or be worried about safety, and biggest of all....Have a place to actually have a meet. Gwinnett PD always had the meet surrounded (around the meet ready for a idiot), but now they will be inside to keep immaturity at zero existence. If you aren't doing anything wrong or have nothing to hide then you shouldn't be scared of Gwinnett PD being there, when they are only there for your safety. I rather put a cop there instead of wait till someone gets hurt then call a cop.

I like the fact now everyone realizes because of some idiot they have to pay. No one cared before when people carried out their immature acts and, and trashed the parking lot. Not a single person stayed back helped cleaning out the lot or stop a fight or told someone to stop burning out, but now the idea of hiring cops, putting a live DJ out, getting a crew to run the lot, and making a quality meet for $2 per car sounds stupid.

I'd love to keep it free, but cops for 3-4hrs cost a pretty penny. Plus the funds will be used to rent the parking lot, put more trash cans, hire a sweeper truck, putting a Live DJ outside when Funds allow, full filling other needs, and let the meet grow into a quality meet from here on.

With the money going to better the event, I don't see the problem.

If you have a problem with police, then you're probably the type of person we don't want at the meet, because most law abiding ppl don't care about police presence.

If you can't afford $2, than you shouldn't be mad at sunny, you should look in the mirror and ask yourself why you're so broke.

People drive too fast in the lot, rev their shitbox too much, and there's just too much general douchebaggery. Hopefully this will keep the idiocy to a minimum.

You can't stop a car coming at you or your car after loosing control even at 20mph, nor can you dodge a swing meant for someone else, but got introduced to you nor can you stop a crowd from instigating a fight. All you can do is protect yourself, and pack up then leave. I am trying to keep everyone there safe, given most can stand their own, but I am not letting it get to that point. Like I said, I rather have Gwinnett PD there on spot than having to call them after a incident has happened. It's the simple presence of Police that will stop the immaturity because it won't be, "Am I gonna get caught if I peel out?", but more "I am def gonna get a ticket or jail time if I peel out". Just like someone went to jail & got his car impounded few meets ago for drifting.

C&O has shit tons of sponsors & vendors, which we don't have. There is police presence at C&O, and they are out in force. I was working with what vendors paid before, keeping cost at bare minimum so it can be a FREE meet, but that obviously didn't work out. Organized car meets aren't free, not IA, nor C&O if the costs aren't covered. You can get in pink pony for free only to be kicked out like the Gwinnett Meet has been from previous locations, but now we are trying to make it from flappy beat up fun bags to more of hot chick. Quality > Quantity

Gwinnett Meet 09/13/12 Details:
1) It is $2 (per spot) to Park at Gwinnett Meet.
2) Only 1 entrance from Mall Blvd will be open. Entrance coming through back side of Wild Bills will be closed.
3) Gwinnett PD will be at the meet in Under Cover & Marked Cars.
4)Each Trash Can will be marked by a Balloon, please put trash in cans. Littering will not be tolerated by Gwinnett PD or the Meet Crew.
5)Do not park at the Mall. "Mall security will have unattended cars towed", exact words that came from them.
6) DO NOT do anything stupid. I really don't want to see anyone get ticketed, car impounded or go to jail. If a matter comes up, leave the meet area. Everything around the meet area isn't safe for any immaturity.
7) All the meet attendees will have a FREE entry to Wild Bills (21+, Discounted $5 under 21), get FREE VIP Bands for the VIP Lounge. Everyone will be able to purchase products from vendors at a discounted rate available only at the meet.

I wouldn't mind having a paid meet every once a while. I can see it filtering a lot of stuff out and giving the creator to have more resources to improve the meet, (things like DJ, security, etc)

1. It is a public parking lot, we come out to meet people with similar interest and admire the hard work (although sometimes misdirected as such).
2. This is a meet not a car show.
3. Who ever you are using for "security" need to check their A-hole attitude at home. They can even make it as a mall cop so chill.
4. Last time I checked we are still living in a democratic society, and being a public meet I do not recall or have seen a call to vote on this imposed fee.

Sonny you have done a great job with organizing the meet so far but for the above reasons unfortunately I will not be attending anymore (I'm sure many others feel the same way and I am certain most of them are not instigators of idiotic actions). It's really too bad because I was really hoping to help this thing grow.

There is a handful of negative people like you that like to criticize the efforts Sunny is doing to keep this meet going, but there are way more that understand why he's doing it and it showed tonight with a great turn out.

By the way, while must of us was walking around enjoying the meet, talking to our friends, chilling, talking about cars and what not, Sunny was walking around picking up trash, attending the entrance, and dealing with the GPD. I don't know about you but that didn't look like too much fun to me! It seem like he's putting alot of effort in to this meet, so that some idiot that don't even contributes to the cause can sit there and criticize his efforts!

That is not a public parking lot. It is private property.
Please find a public parking lot where everyone can just hang out for free. Here's a hint - you won't. Someone always has to pay.

Parking lot is Wild Bills - they have the right to refuse you entry, impose a parking fee, have your car towed, etc. if you park in their lot. It is not public parking.

Thanks to everyone who came out last night and supported the meet. We hit capacity, all the trash stayed out, and Gwinnett Meet was a SUCCESS. It was nice, chill, and laid back. 1st time in years I didn't have to tell a single person to stop doing something stupid. I loved the fact people were actually walking around freely instead of dodging cars. NO speeding through the lot, NO acting a fool, NO immaturity as well. As the meet progresses resources will be used to give back to the meet. We will not loose another Gwinnett Meet location over actions of few people. Gwinnett Meet will go down & be known as a NO BS meet, started yesterday and years to come.

GWINNETT MEET TONIGHT, LOCATION CHANGE, right across the street at the mall. Due to Wild Bills hosting a concert tonight, we will be relocating the meet right across the street, approved by mall management & security. If you are facing the mall from wild bills it is the 2nd lot to your left right across, Macy's. This a bigger location, Gwinnett PD & mall security will be out so don't get any ideas.

Please follow Staff directions on parking. It is still 1 car per parking spot, no parking in driving lanes. Starting drama or wreckless driving is a instant ticket (possible jail time), and boot from the meet.

Yes the meet is still going on. Winter time usually is a smaller turn out of about 200-250 cars or so. Come spring we will be back in full effect.
