basically.. this is one of the few cameras that gets really high reviews on www.dpreview.com and a few other sites like cnet and etc... most reviews on this camera have been 4.5/5.0 stars or higher.
it's very close to SLR with the range and adjustment you have over the shutter speed and the aperture... also with manual and auto focus modes. other than interchangeable lenses.. it pretty much has many of the SLR capabilities.
