Have a 1998 Civic Dx that i recently swaped a OBD1 B18b1 motor with Si transmission. Motor was rebuilt with new gaskets, seals, pistons, rings, etc. Nothing done to top end besides seals. Using a 98 civic dx wiring harness with obd2 ls ecu. Converted motor over to OBD2...Injectors, distributor, oil pump with crank position sensor, and IACV. I have fuel, spark, and compression. 135,130,125,140 readings on the compression check. Only able to get it to back fire. Any ideas on what might be causeing it not to crank????

update... got it to fire up and turn over, but will not stay idle. As soon as you let off the gas it shuts right off.

you got the two plugs on the intake manifold mixed up. i did this on my b18b swap in my old 98ex.

If you have fuel spark and compression, then something is not in time. either you have things plugged in wrong or timing is off. Also the sensor at the crank is a CRANKSHAFT FLUCTUATION SENSOR. Its only purpose is to correlate with the Crankshaft position sensor which is inside the distributor. The car will run without this sensor, just obd2 cel issues.
