so okay... I ordered some buddy club race spec cam gears on ebay for my buddy cluv spec iv cams... the guy writes me telling me he doesn;t have them in stock but he can replace them with a skunk2 tuner series cam gear which according to him retails for $70 more and I won't have to pay the difference. My question is the following;

can I run skunk2 tuner series cam gears with these cams or do I need the pro series?

what he is trying to say is if he can use the skunk2 tuner series cam gears with his buddy club IV camshafts, or if he would need the skunk 2 pro series cam gears for his buddy club spec IV camshafts..

any gears will work. be sure to properly torque the gears onto the cams because they WILL break if done wrong.

I wouldnt think soo...

Im pretty sure they have the same amount of degrees of adjusting. They just look different.

Maybe they have more adjusting bolts... but yea.. It will be ok.

I have used AEM true time gears. (the Three bolt ones)

Now I have some Skunk2 Tuner Cam gears.

alot of people saying that the golden eagle cam gears are one of the best and that the bolts are very durable so i went that route.

the degree on the tuner vs pro are different. tuner are 2 degree vs. pro series are 1 degree or vice verse. well in a H series case it is.

edit:

B
On Pro Series cam gears (1 mark = 1° cam timing)
On Tuner Series cam gears (1 mark = 2° cam timing)

Either way.... They are going to be able to adjust to what you need..

your probly not gonna adjust them ANY more than 5 degrees

not trying to be a dick but i hardly dought ur build whatever that is, will need crazy degreeing if any at all, just saying. my pro1s only had 1 degree on Exh side i believe, 12:5 CTR setup.

all the cam gears will work on their designed engine. But i doubt that they would really be used much, unless your head has been decked. Then they would allow you to get the cam timing back in place. Most of the cam manufacturers make theircams ideal at 0 degrees, but every engine likes things alil different. Some ppl gained some extra ponys with them, but on my setups i never gained anything with them.... GL with your build!!

Three of the engines I hade, made MORE power when adjusting the cams..

About a 5-8 hp gain..

But like said above.. It depends on the engine..

Also I wouldnt be adjusting the cams, unless you know the Valve clearances and ect...

Ask for your money back and get what you wanted in the 1st place from someone else.

Thank You guys. He said he could not get the pro series for me but the tuner. So I asked when he will be getting the Buddy Club ones (gold) which I originally wanted and was told it would take 2 weeks so I told him I will just wait for it since I am in no hurry since I'm still missing a few parts. Thanks for the input everyone.
