i dont drive a k or any honda for that matter but i will agree that rolls are pretty weak, in terms of driving skills, but they are just more convenient and simpler to arrange unless you go to the track...i agree a dig truly determines the better driver and most of the times the faster car, but not always...i mean a 500 hp supra can go the strip and run a 12 second pass but go on the street and destroy a low 11s car...its all a matter of how and what your car is set up to do, some people like roll races more than digs, let em run what they run and then do what baby j said and get the dig run you want. But continue with the back and forth retort it gives me some stuff to read :) and mosely nice car, 112480 dont really know your car but from what they say on here sounds pretty stout, with some possibility :goodjob:

Actually roll racing decides who has the "fastest" car its a straight hp and tq race...as far as fair its the utmost fair type of race seeing as how, unless you can't shift, it involves very little "skill" so no one can truly have a driver advantage like in a dig :goodjob:

I could care less weither they roll race or dig but i will say this. Unless your at the track launching at 6,000 rpms breaking is not somthing to be worried about. If you break trying to feather the clutch as much as you can to get as much traction with out spinning on the street something is wrong with you car to start with .Ive broke one axle and it was at the track when i was sick as hell import showdown and didnt preload . It was a 400hp axle now i have one orieleys lola nd one 400hp axle they seem to work fine. I would say you have more of a chance misshfting and blowing your motor on the street then hurting anything in a dig race because of the traction issues on the street . Both races or fun even people that says do digs say they have roll raced everybody does it . Unless you are running for money and you feel like a dig race is a advantage to you then there is realy no need to do it . i can meet some frineds on a interstate (in mexico lol) and roll up beside them hit the gas and see what our car has for each other then let out the gas. If your roll racing you got to set up a spot ,make sure its clear , get somebody out the car to start the race just alot more chance in getting caught racing in a roll races to me just my opion . I like both and yes ive seen a tone of slower cars beat faster cars in a roll race . I dont think thats what their wanting to here guys . I think they want to know whos car is faster (not who drives better) and a roll race will tell them that.

BLAH BLAH BLAH.. His best chance is from a 60 roll, OR if he does a lower roll leaving at 5500-6000(I'm guessing on Rpm because the dyno is in Mph not RPM).. That is when his TQ peaks, He has his sheet, he also knows people... Base all your roll races from where the TQ Peaks, base your shift points off the start of that as well, Do the math, ask around "thats my 2 cents"..

Find you a good tranny guy because this car has a good TQ Curve, peak TQ just past vtec cross over and stays flat for 3000 rpm it looks like, Match the gearing with that curve and you will be in the game.. Anyone with any real racing knowledge would have know this.. Get the Dyno in RPM, and post it.. I'd like to see, and also compare it with gearing in the 5 & 6spd tranny's

Sounds like excuses. Its not your opponents fault you were "out of your powerband". Thats ricer talk. You agree to a MPH, you run, YOU TAKE THE OUTCOME. Theres no shame in saying "hey i did it your way lets do it this way" and trying to negotiate a better run.

I mean Luis (now moselys car i assume from his sig) was a much better geared car than my crx and i think thats the only reason why i lost. But it doesnt matter what i think, i STILL LOST. Setting your car up, gearing, hp , weight, and driver skill are all X factors. run whatcha brung, and dont be afraid to lose.

Problem with greg is he has TALKED A LOT OF SHIT about how fast his car was gonna be, and i warned him against that because just cause you make XXX whp doesnt mean you will lose. Ok my car made 198whp, luis made 23X and he won by what 1 car? and it was mostly on top end? Why didnt he pull 3-4 cars like he should have? Cause HP isnt everything. i had 1000 more RPMs than he did and my car weighed slightly less, and had much longer gearing.

FYI the 2nd gear in my tranny is 20% shorter, hence 20% more power to the ground . it's not that hard to figure out.

Luis/Moselys car is K20A, ITR trans (5.X final drive) and i think he revs it to 9000 tops. Never heard 10,000 out of it.

I saw it and i dynoed it personally at Mainstream, it was a stock motor that made 240ish whp. I was surprised, but there was NO BOTTLE, and everything he said about the car made sense according to the MPH and dyno chart.

there is the bottle on it, but it was never used when i ran him, and i doubt it was used against greg. he doesnt need to use it. the cars are not that unevenly matched, sorry.

If the trannys wernt so far apart in gearing i might would even say he sprayed but i looked up the gearing on the tranny calculator and even if he dont have a lower final the six speed is so much lower then the five speed that its insane. So think about it if they started at a 40 role and gregg was at around 4,800 rpms and moselys car was at 5,500 rpms ( i checked the tranny calculator so this should be real close if both tranny have stock diffs) then that could be the difference in 30hp. My point is according to my dyno i make 30 more hp at 5,500 rpms then i do at 4,800 (theres could be even more of a difference then that). So greggs extra hp just got shot to shit because of gearing lol. Im guessing gregg is supposed to be making 20 more hp then mosely well according to the rpms they started at mosely had at least a 30 hp advantage so then you subtract the 20 more hp that gregg is making and you get that mosely car was making 10 more hp then gregg was when they started the race .probably pretty much keep that advantage through out the race. Im going by my dyno sheets getting these numbers and theres could very some but are probably pretty close to this. Even looking at it this way it still doesnt add in the 20 percent more power 9just because of the gearing) this just shows the motor hp.

let me put it this way everybody knows if you put a b16 on a h22 you lose half a second in the quarter because of how much the gearing helps well that is what is happening to gregg in this race simple as that. It takes 230hp to run 12.9-13.0 flat with a h series swap in a eg or you can bolt in a 185hp h22 and put a b16 trany on it and run the same numbers . Thats 45hp difference so tell me gearing isnt everything ? Mike didnt rock the 4.9 diff in a street car with a super charger for nothing lol.

Everybody hears that somebody is making 270hp and thats twenty more hp then moesly he should lose. We forget the fact that on that dyno chart he only makes 271hp for a split second not the whole race lol. I dont think greggs car is a dyno queen by no means but i could post up mine and nemos dyno chart over laying each other and you guys would see just how much that top 271hp number doesnt mean shit . I think i made 1hp more then nemo on the dyno but 30 more hp through out the power band the difference is unreal but if we both got on here and posted that i made 252hp and he made 251hp you guys would think they were real close motors but there not even close to being close.
