UPDATE 2-22-11

I've had a few PM's and phone calls from members on the forums and hopefully have replied to everyone. A family emergency has come up where my mother was involved in a hit and run where she was the pedestrian. So if anyone has contacted me and I have not gotten back to you, I will have to put work aside for a while until I can get things back to normal.

UPDATE - 2/28/11


My mom has been doing a little bit better since the accident. She was released from the hospital this week. She suffered a broken hip and fractured collar bone. She can't do much on her own yet and is in a lot of pain every day. Since it is just her and I here in Atlanta she has gone to NC to stay with my brother while I handle things like speaking with the lawyer, and any bills.

The medical bills are probably going to be in the 70-100k range. Sad thing is that the driver was a minor on a permit, and uninsured. The good thing is that he was arrested. He was with a group of teens, and 2 chilren who ate at the restaurant my mom worked at. He and the other teens tried to run out without paying their bill and my mom was trying to call the police so she followed them out to the car to get their license plate number. This is when he hit 3 cars while trying to flee and then hit my mom. He then fled the scene of the crime and luckily my mom remembered the plate number and he was caught.

I am not quite sure what to do other than work hard and trust that God will help us through everything. I just hope that she will be able to walk again.

It was in Covington not too far from Conyers. We have a lawyer working on the case, but she is very slowly recovering. She is getting up to walk now yet still can't do it on her own without help to get up.

Yes Covington it made the news correct glad they caught the punk. She'll be back to normal in a few god bless!
