I picked up this little gem this morning for the low low price of FREE.

Motor is knocking pretty good but still drives and the body is almost perfect other than one dent. Interior is almost perfect other than the worn drivers seat and missing temp knob for the climate control.

Its been sitting for 6 months

Stopped by a car wash to see how good the paint is and wow it looks pretty good to be a 1990.

Now to just find a good low milage motor for it and swap it in. Then I'll have a nice little DD for cheap.

Plans are to get a low mileage motor for it and then drive it for a while and then sell it to buy the supermoto conversion kit for my motorcycle.

No thanks I'm going to keep it stock. I need good gas mileage because my Jeep is killing me. I'm getting around 8-10mpg with it and it hurts to put gas in it.

Update: I found a low mileage motor for my Celica. Its sitting at the salvage yard waiting on me to pick it up but due to breaking my foot on Sat. I haven't been able to fix the front brake on my Jeep to go pick up the motor. Hoping to finish the brakes and head over to the yard some time this week and hopefully get the motor in and running. I ended up having to drive the Celica to my Doc appointment on Monday and it drove so good. As long as you ignore the loud ass knocking noise it car is perfect. I still can't believe the guy just gave it to me for free.

Shes not much to look at but she will get to looking better soon. So far I have $350 in this car and everything works PS, AC, heat, power sunroof and the head light pop up fast and level. I really like this little car. Only thing I don't like is its a auto. I wish it was a 5 speed.

I'm going to keep the little 1.6L in her. It moves pretty good for such a heavy car. I still can't believe how good this car drives and handles for a all original 1990.

Update: ;D
Well shes tagged and street legal. Found out the car hadn't been tagged since 09 so I had to pay the 2010 tag taxes on it. I was like great here it comes... It was a whole $8 :goodjob: After I got the tag I headed to autozone and got a bottle of purple power, light bulbs and a set of wiper blades for this weekend.

Took her to the car was and sprayed the entire car with the purple power and scrubbed the grease off. Then gave her a much needed bath. Also vacuumed and cleaned the interior. Wow she cleaned up nice for a 21yo car.

Also cleaned my bike witch was way overdue. My really white rides.

UPDATE:

Well it happened yesterday. She decided to give me a problem. I was in Hoschton, Ga at a friends house (yea I drove from Cleveland to Hoschton about a hour drive one way.) We needed something from the store so we took my Celica. As I was pulling into the store parking lot I stopped at the light. Thats when we smelt the fuel smell. Light turned green and I pulled in to the parking lot a popped the hood. #3 fuel injector o-ring let go an was spraying fuel out of the fuel rail. While my friend ran into the store I pulled the rail off and got the o-ring out. We walked over to the Auto-zone and had to deal with the kid at the computer but finally got the o-ring set. All they had was the 4 o-rings but I wanted to get all 8 rubber seals and 4 o-rings.

I slapped the o-rings in and no fuel leak. :goodjob: I guess its doing pretty good. 200+ miles with no check engine lights, no oil leaks, no real issues other than the 1 fuel injector 0-ring (set cost $3.99).

OMG I love driving this car and my friend was surprised at how good it looked and handled for a 21yo FREE car with a $300 engine. :lmfao: His $2000 used car he bought 6 months ago is falling apart.

Also checked my timing and I can't get it to 10*btdc. When I turn the distributor towards 10* the motor starts shaking and tries to stall. Its sitting at 30* and running good. I'm thinking I may have got it a tooth off when I put the new timing belt on. So as soon as it drys out I'm going to pull it off and redo the timing and maybe that will help me get some more MPGs.

UPDATE:

Got all my injector seals fixed and found a vac. leak on the seals that go into the intake manifold. Car idles great now and no fuel leaks at all.

I also redid the timing and got it dead on. It now feels like it has a little power.

Just for the heck of it I made a new antenna for it with a wire hanger. I finally can pick up some radio stations. This is temporary until I can buy a new power antenna for it.

Then yanked my system out of my Jeep and tossed it in the Celica.

I wish it was a GT4. But its just a little 1.6L FWD STX model. Its slow and auto but it gets great gas mileage so its ok.

I can't blame you. A while back I passed up an offer for 8000 for the prelude. I kick myself every time I think about it.
