ATLANTA -- A driver trying to speed away from police was taken into custody after a chase that stretched across several counties and ended in downtown Atlanta on Wednesday afternoon.

Channel 2 Action News broadcast the high-speed chase live as it unfolded.

News Chopper 2 captured video of police boxing in the car and then taking the suspect into custody.

Channel 2 confirmed that Morrow police initiated the chase.

Several metro Atlanta agencies, including Atlanta police, joined the chase.
