Hi all, I just moved down to the Columbus area and was pointed to this site by some people down there. I had been living in Rochester NY and I can assure you, it's one of the most miserable places on earth.

I've owned a variety of cars over the last few years, one that has stayed with me is my Del Sol Project car which hasn't been on the road for a while but hopefully will be ready to be on the road again soon.

some of the other toys that served the daily driver role until their untimely deaths:

Well, that's a whole can of worms. If you have time for a story:

I started off with the '86 Bronco as a daily, the thing was in great shape it was the first year it was fuel injected and it had a fairly nice 5.0 V8. Unfortunately my apartment complex had 8 pretty harsh speed bumps that I refused to acknowledge and one day the body lift pucks blasted through the body and it smashed down onto the frame. That itself was repairable but the wiring all went up in smoke as I sat in it. the taillight and hitch harness ran along the frame and got pinched burning up every wire right up to the battery. So, the bronco was dead and I hunted for my first impreza.

The red one was in mint condition 75k miles, checked the oil a day before an autocross, it never leaked, never smoked, but by the last run of the day the motor started knocking. I shut her down immediately and checked the oil and she was bone dry. Filled it back up but it was too late, the motor seized on the way back. I suspect some foul play because I had turned down many offers by some other people and in the end those people made thousands off my misery. See here: http://www.rs25.com/forums/f171/t113986-2000-2-5-rs-mt-100k-miles-srp-seized-bottom-end.html and then here: http://www.rs25.com/forums/f171/t124129-ny-2001-impreza-rs25.html I had sold it to that guy for only 1,200.

I tried to replace it with this black impreza with an STI swap: http://www.rs25.com/forums/f171/t110951-fs-subaru-rsti-15k-engine.html
but this is what happened: http://www.rs25.com/forums/f171/1835188-post41.html

So then I found a Blue one in albany with the 2.5 block built and boosted and a ppg trans. Everything looked good at the test drive but once I got it back to my shop in Rochester this is what I found: http://www.nyspeed.com/showthread.php?78611-1998-2.5RS-RE-build-thread
Granted my issues with that one started with the fact that I looked it over and test drove it at night... my own damn fault I ended up with the thing.

So finally once I was completely broke and owed thousands in loans, I found the gray one which had 250k miles on it and MANY known problems, but it turned out to be the most reliable. After about a year the CELs started adding up and I sold it to someone who had a WRX motor and wanted a chassis to swap.

So that's my story. Some think I should be a main contributor to FML lol

lol, rochester sure is a shit hole. Summer lasts only about 2 months and we only get to see the sun every once in a blue moon. If you get seasonal depression you'd off your self real quick in rochester.
