View Full Version : I want a hole in my roof...

Anybody know who can install a sliding ragtop? Or does anyone have experience installing one? I don't have the tools or the space and there is something about me cutting into the roof that just scares me... I'd rather let someone else do it.

This is exactly what I want to do, but I am going to have a grey or black canvas top.

It's definitely not a cheap doing, but they are cool. I'd put one in my CVCC if it weren't so expensive. Later, QD.

Notice where its parked. This looks like leak central! It might not leak right away but will over time.

... or someone that is ballsy enough to try.

You don't want this guy. When you're dealing with this sort of customizing, you don't want "ballsy." You want know-how.

It might not leak right away but will over time.

That goes with anything of this nature. Convertibles, T-tops, sunroofs and all will leak over time. Later, QD.

Most factory stuff wont. I have never had issues with factory sun roofs, aftermarket ones are another story. convertable tops if damaged will leak This just looks cheap to me.

Godfather customs might do it. They used to do the "RATical" top back in the day. Surely they still do sliding ragtops.

Most factory stuff wont.

Depends on how/if you take car of it. Rubber pieces will dry out and rot. You don't take proper care and everything will diminish over time.

That's why you don't want anyone "ballsy" doing this type work. Later, QD.

Well I want someone who knows what they are doing. I have seen a write up on how to do it, but I would like someone more experienced. I'd prefer a dealer or shop to do it for a warranty for the workmanship.

On that note, I am aware of leaking. I also park in a garage and regularly clean up the car, so that will prolong the life of the ragtop.

I do need to find a sun roof deflector though for those rainy days.

I'll check out godfather customs. Anyone have other places that might do it?

Randode's cube is so sick!! i have done one about 15 years ago, but it was in the campershell in my buddy's old mini truck.

Bet a 12 gauge and a case of beer will give you the same effect :D

As Echo mentioned, God Father Customs should be able to do it for you. I am sure other companies can do it.

no such thing exsist and secondly if you are referring to spreaders those wont work either. However a set of cutters should work nicely.

I do love randodes cube. There are a few things I would have changed or not done, but I am still glad about all the progress he has gotten done for most cube owners.

Has anyone heard of classic soft trim?

There is a place called "Ratops & Running boards" in Acworth. I don't know anything about them and they have no website I've found.
