in need of a new water pump. i researched but everyones telling me to run a gsr or type r pump because of the b20vtec setup. my buddy has a brand new pump with a gates timing belt. would this work on my motor?

if he has a GSR/ITR waterpump and GSR/ITR belt, then yes it will work. remember to replace your tensioner

i wouldn't use anything but oem water pump and timing belt
when ever u doing lsv or b20v u have to use gsr water pump and timing belt
there isnt such thing as in typer oil pump and water pump just lettting you know

nothing wrong with autozone water pump and timing belts, its not like hes making oh so much power to wreak havoc on the trusty autozone goodies :rolleyes:

Like said above B18c1/5 pumps are what ya need. OEM

ok, i was just asking since my friend has a brand new b16 pump he was gonna give me plus a belt

b16 water pump is the same as a gsr one.

so the b16 pump is a 22 tooth pump? i just wanna make sure all this before i put it on and something messes up. idk

I was gonna say make sure you get the one with the right amount of teeth. The water pump and something else needs to have the right combination of teeth.
