I'm looking into the cost of swapping the 2uz tundra block into my 4.0 1uz and to do this swap i need to use different weighted pistons and rods which would throw the balance and I was woundering how much it would cost to balance them

the 2uz is a 4.7 v8,

I use Schmidt Automotive. I haven't found a better machine shop in 15 years - well worth my shipping costs there and back every time. http://www.schmidtautomotive.com/

HOWEVER - just call around local shops and see if that's a service that they offer.

small price to pay for same day pickup and a good balance on an aftermarket setup

Seriously doubt that 2 days of shipping is gonna keep any1 from the races. And Scott's has been known for not having gear ready when promised - me and DaRon waited a week for them to finish checking my head when they promised a 24 hour turn-around. Furthermore that price for balancing is astronomical compared to circles that I run in. But YMMV. To the OP, call around and see what you can find and GL with your build sir.

You could balance them yourself with an appropriate scale (if you are solely doing piston/rods)

If its a v8 you definatly want the crank balanced too. Ball Engine in lilburn can do it for you, and right
