Hey I got a eg with a y8 in it and it's running sluggish. Timing was off by a tooth so we fixed it and still running sluggish. Throwin codes for iat sensor, crank position sensor, vtec solenoid and o2 sensor. Don't know why it's throwing a crank position sensor if I'm running obd1 ecu. Any help I'd really appreciate it. Suggestions? Thanks
IAT for a y8 is in the intake, so you will have to get that sensor and a stick it in your intake pipe somehow. Vtec is obvious, DUH, and so is O2 :gay:.
Now, CKP, this sensor is inside your distributor... before you pop open the dizzy trying to tinker with things check ALL electrical connections outside the dizzy. report back after you check that :D

The broken sensor is your iat and your car is not going to run right without the crank sensor or the iat and the vtec not working properly. In obd2 they put the crank sensor on the crank not in the distributor so if your running a obd2 distributor its going to thre that code and never run right . MY suggestions get a obd1 distributor (which i just happen to have text me 478-808-9122 ) and replace your iat ( which i also happen to have lol) then get your vtec working correctly.

that is definitely true that they put a CKP at the crank on OBD2 cars, but they also left it inside the distributor as well. ive converted and used so many OBD2 to OBD1 dizzys its enough to make your brain pop LoL, every last one went without a hitch. i reckon he has a teeeeeeny electrical issue somewhere
