.20 over is about 1mm if I am not mistaking. B20s are about .60 over from an LS.

.40 is 82 mm so no b20 piston will not work, you would need 84mm.

Bacon

.40 over is an 83mm bore.

clumsy_smurf
12-13-2010, 08:54 AM
oh emmino told me i needed 84mm. so bacon, i need 83mm correct?

Bacon
12-13-2010, 08:56 AM
He would know more than I would but if I wasn't mistaken, .20 over for every 1mm.

clumsy_smurf

man this is confusing me lol. ive been researching but i cant seem to understand the numbers

Bacon
12-13-2010, 09:06 AM
81mm bore is stock LS
84mm bore is stock B20

I am under the impression that .20 is equivalent to 1mm which would make:

~.20 = 82mm
~.40 = 83mm
~.60 = 84mm

Like I mentioned before, Emmino would know it better than I would.

see thats the info ive been trying to get. i mean it sounds about right to me but ill wait to see if Emmino will confirm that its right i guess before i order the wrong pistons

Is the block you are working with already bored out?

clumsy_smurf
12-13-2010, 09:13 AM
yea its bored out and he said dual sleeved? i havent bought it yet cuz im researching about pistons for it.

Bacon
12-13-2010, 09:15 AM
Dual sleeved? Not sure what that could be. Maybe Dart sleeved :dunno:

clumsy_smurf
12-13-2010, 09:16 AM
idk to be honest lol. maybe dart sleeved. ive never seen the block, my buddy told me about it.

clumsy_smurf

.20=81.5mm
.40=82mm

84mm bore is stock B20

That is wrong bud...

.20 over is 81.5mm

What size is the block NOW?? Stock, or it has been bored already?

If its bored already.. then you need pistons for that bore

That is wrong bud...

.20 over is 81.5mm
.40 over is 82 mm

the b18 block has already been bored and sleeved. the only thing the guy told me was that is a b18b1 bored .40 over

DarKStaR
12-13-2010, 09:48 AM
how about get someone to mic it out so you will know exactly what size it is?

clumsy_smurf
12-13-2010, 09:50 AM
because no one around here is smart enough for that haha.

Bacon

Take someone with you when you go to buy it. Have that person measure the bore and see what exactly it is.

If it's 82mm, it should measure 3.2283464566964 roughly.

What side of town are you on? Regardless of the current bore size, if it is .040 over you still have a little room to play with if need be.

x2,, Take it to a Local machine shop.. and they can easily tell you..

hell you could do it with a damn Micrometer if need be

Depends on if its really sleeved. I have darton sleeves but they are the small ones, 82mm is the max you can bore them out and still have the thickness protection.
