I have a set of old skool Volk GTP's from 92' :boobies: that need some TLC. I have them taken apart and need the lip polised. Does anyone in the central GA or south ATL polish? If so let me know. I herd there is a guy in Jackson area that polishes for around $20ish a wheel, or if any of you guys can i have the cash. Thanks

Its not that hard to do yourself. Steel wool and a pack of progressively finer sand paper is your friend. Don't wet sand, use oil.

I only spent like 2 hours on this so I didn't get a mirror finish.

Ive NEVER heard that.. ive done polishing via the wet sanding and have gotten amazing results.. Id like to see some mirror finish results of your OIL sanding method..

Well considering this is only 650 grit...

I can imagine if I had used 1k grit and buffed it at all it would be a mirror finish.

Neh, that method seems to leave alot of hairline scratches.

Before:
started with 800grit- -1000-1500-wet sand with 2000 .
after sanding i used mother billet polish. taped then painted. it took about 4 hours. had a mirror finish

Yea thanks for the offers guys.I got bored tonight and attempted it. I went 600 to 2k :/ i am gonna redo it 300, 400, 600, 1000, 2000 and should get results i want. I have the "cotton candy" lol and my friends dad gave me some HD polishing it works even better than the "candy" lol.

Eagle one NEVR DULL works wonders ...about the same as the wizard polish and cheaper (4-5$ a can)...local parts stores carry it

So I picked up a set of "GOLD" si's with brand new tires! I'm wanting to strip the gold off & start the polishing process! 2 of my buddys say "it's safe to use aircraft paint removal" with the tires still on the wheels & won't cause any harm! Will 800-2000 grit sandpaper work along with lots of elbow grease & then apply some mothers aluminum polish?
