Goldmember quest to make the 500whp mark is not far, unfortunately it's reached a new problem now that the engine is solid and holding well...

"Although none of the gears are damaged, this one was a pretty impressive grenading.

Blew a hole in it mid 4th gear wednesday night at the track. Still did a 12.0 @ 126, but that was a lot slower than what I was planning for."

Not the best run, it's seen 11s with less power, bad traction due to cold.

Yea I don't agree with the phantom grip, but one of the reps pretty much gave it to him and installed it as well so....

Yea I don't agree with the phantom grip, but one of the reps pretty much gave it to him and installed it as well so....I loved the phantom grip I had in my CRX. I've heard people bitch about them, but I abused mine daily for at least two years and never had an issue.

But whatever.

They are decent for low power but not much over 300+

tranny 4, then 5 then 6 lol nothing much can be done, he's not spending money to do the f135 swap and to build up a G series is costly so he'll just keep running through transmissions since they're so cheap lol...

As for the g series being like glass, I don't agree with this at all, his 1st one handled TONS of runs @ 400+ whp (plus daily driving) it was only once he broke the 425whp mark that they started going out and now that he's above 450whp they don't last. So I wouldn't complain about a tranny that can handle 400whp that was from a car with only 160whp lol :)

So he's pretty much reached his max that the car will make without dropping some more serious cash on the tranny, which he doesn't want to do as he's been wanting to move into an FD. So unless he can get some free to extremely low cost work done on the tranny, it is what it is.
